Very tough grader and gives a lot of work. Got more work in this class than all my other ones combined. That being said I am learning a lot. She comes from some weird angles (one book is fictional) but she definitely knows her stuff.

"Dr"Spitz must have gotten her degree from Hogwarts because that's about how real her knowledge of the real world is. Don't disagree with her on anything or she will threaten to remove you from the course.

This woman has no respect for her students or herself. She preaches her ideals that are based off of a class required SCIENCE FICTION book and if you disagree, or even question her she will degrade you and yell at you in front of the class. Expect to be harassed throughout the semester via verbal attacks and poor grading

Dr. Spitz is a very tough grader but she is clear in what she wants. I personally learned a lot from her both at the Undergraduate and Graduate Levels. The way she structures her courses it requires you to learn; it's not easy but it's worth it.

VERY informative teacher. I learned more from her than I did from any of my Professors at Saint Rose. A lot of students don't like her because she makes you work for your grade, unlike other professors at Saint Rose where getting an A is as easy as breathing. If you do your work and participate, this class will be one of your favorites.

I just had to withdraw from her class and honestly I felt trapped into her class. It is a required course, so my advice would to be mentally prepared to do 4 hours + of out of class work, and her grading is the harshest grading I have ever come across in my collegiate career. I wish the best of luck to her future students. You need it.

I was so nervous to take this class because I heard Professor Spitz was a hard professor. I enjoyed this class and learned more in the first day than I have in both of my other economics courses combined. There is a lot of outside classwork and you need to be attentive in class. I am looking forward to having Professor Spitz again in the spring.

I am a mostly A/ some B student. Did all the work and still did horrible. She even fails you for an assignment if she feels you didn't have a great article relating on the assigned 4 hr weekly reading. I would NEVER recommend this professor - so yes, just take a different grad elective class!

I was nervous after reading these posts but I really enjoyed having Dr. SPitz as a teacher. She is extremely intelligent, and did offer some extra-credit type things in the form of hw redo's and a point on a test for including your name. The course is definitely a tough one though. Leave plenty of time to study, lots of quizes!

Unrealistic expectations for a 1/2 credit class. Meaningless ramblings and erroneous information. I got an A because I worked hard and went to her for help but as a learning experience this was dreadful. Avoid these courses at all costs. Take statistics somewhere else and transfer it in if you can possibly do so. Worst course I've ever taken.

I took her for MBA 508 and 509. Yes she tells jokes and isn't always the clearest. Just make sure to touch base with her during office hours and do all your work... the final projects counts the most... I got a A in both classes and sucked at everything...but did all the work!
