Jan is truly one of the best. She gives great lectures and makes class interesting. The A&F project is one of the best experiences I have had at Miami thus far, and really taught me a lot. The short answer section on exams was the only thing I struggled with. Be sure to go to class and take good notes.

When I grow up, I want to be Jan Taylor. Jan is by far the best professor I have ever had. She is critical for networking and WILL get you a job if you get to know her. I took her for 325 and was a UA for her because I couldn't get enough

Jan's class is very interesting, laid back, and straightforward. Exams are straight from the lectures-no reading required! For the honors students, take the Abercrombie project seriously-it counts for more of the final grade than the exams do!

Jan is hands down one of the best professors I have had at Miami. I had her for both 291 and 325. She makes class extremely interesting through her lectures and didn't require a book for 325 when I took it. She truly has a genuine concern for her students. Jan will do anything and everything to help you in & out of class (i.e. finding a job).

Great professor !!!! Class if fun and insightful. Be sure to attend lectures because she doesnt use a text book. There is a group project through out the semester but I actually enjoyed it. She's extremely approachable and a joy to listen to in class. Ask her about her Green Beer Day stories haha

Jan is awesome. Her real world experiences that she shares make class interesting and her lectures are filled with great examples and stories. She is a very strong, opinionated woman who really cares about your success. Only part about the class that sucked was so many points from group work, if you get stuck in a bad group then you are toast

If you can, get Jan! Uses a lot of examples from her life to teach us. Cares about students. Believes in networking and will help you as much as possible with jobs/internships if you're qualified. Very fair grading, not too easy or too hard. She is a wonderful woman and professor!

I went into this class thinking Jan would be a rockstar, but she certainly wasn't. Her lectures were interesting, but I didn't find her very approachable. I was nervous about my grade the whole semester and felt I could have earned a higher grade in a non-honors class. I'd give her a "fair" rating: I've had much better, and much worse in honors and non-honors classes.

Jan is an amazing prof. She was always incredibly helpful, even on issues outside of class such as help finding internships and resumes. Dont buy the book, we never used it and shes does a great job with lectures. Class was always laid back which naturally students would participate.
