Dr. K is an excellent professor! I took his Intro. to Discrete class as a first semester freshman, and although the class is a bit tough, he makes it much easier to understand. He is always willing to help if you come to his office hours, but he also loves answering questions during lecture. He writes extremely neatly and is very easy to follow!

Dr. K is fantastic. As long as you go to class and you pay attention and do the homework, the exams will be easy for you. Once you figure out the format of his ideal proof the rest comes easy. Go to class and participate! He gives points for attendance and participation.

Dr. K is by far one of the best math professors in the department. His lectures are always very straightforward, neatly written, and easy enough to understand as long as you're paying attention. Do the homework, if you don't understand a problem, go to him and he will help you figure it out. I try to take him for any class I can.

I liked the lectures, he takes his time to write things out and is very neat and precise. However, even if you do the homework, that doesn't mean you will pass quizzes and tests. Went to him for help and he told me it would be a miracle if I passed, but gave me no help as to how I could improve. Never taking again.

He has super high expectations. I failed his class and it was my first time ever failing a class, took another prof for the same subject and got a b+.He does not do partial credit even if you got it partially right, he strikes the whole 10 point problem wrong. I don't recommend him at all, he will hunt you down and won't give you a chance to breath

Took him for Calc 1 and failed no matter how much I studied. Part of it was inexperience with calculus (didn't take trig or pre-calc), other part was insane quizzes and tests with strict time limits. He is a great teacher, but if you do not know the material masterfully, he's going to chew you up and spit you out.

Was not a fan of his at all. Extremely picky with assignments, takes off point for incorrect grammar on proofs and very rude at times. Called me out on my mistakes in front of the class sometimes which really bothered me. Tests are tough. Hope I don't have to take him ever again.

I took Linear Algebra with Dr. K in Fall 2012. I thought his class was really easy. He's a cute little old man with a foreign accent, but his handwriting is extremely neat and he explains everything very well. Homework is optional. Do it if you don't understand the material. Tests are easy if you understand the material. Overall, good class :)

Math has never been my strong subject. His lectures are easy and straight forward but his quizzes and tests are hard. His grading system is ridiculous and he's a total ass if you go in and ask for help during office hours.

Class is straightforward. Lectures were easy to understand. For some reason I got caught off-guard on the first test and really messed up, but the tests are fair. Proofs on tests were on the easier end of the range compared to the homework (and very similar to the homework). He gets mad if you don't come to class, and happy if you ask questions.

If it is clarity you are looking for in a professor, Dr. K is amazing! His notes are crystal clear and he takes his time writing so you have time to keep up. Do not be put off if he hassles you in class, his intention is to build you into a logical thinker. Definitely not an easy A, but it is attainable.

I came into linear algebra knowing it would be tough, especially as a cram course, but I never expected it to turn me off to math completely. I wound up teaching myself a lot of the covered material after class before I spent hours doing the bookwork. I'll make sure to stick to calculus and discrete math from now on, if I ever take math again >.>

Pro. K is crazy. The class is pretty fair but extremely difficult to do well in. He takes off for the slightest errors, even things like not showing basic math (ex: I got a points off for not showing 40-30=10). This really isn't a "math" class but more like a crazy illogical logic class.

Fairly good for notes but tests and labs are very hard. Partial credit is you get a couple points off part a for a mistake, then parts b&c that use part a are wrong. Also EVERY step you have to explain IN COMPLETE SENTANCES what you're doing or he takes off. Examples for labs aren't always covered in class but the book usually has something.

If you haven't taken any classes with Dr. K yet then definitely choose him over another teacher. He is by far the best math professor I have ever had in my life. He knows the material WELL, he takes test questions straight from the HW. He covers all test material in class, he grades fair and balanced. Excellent teacher UMW is lucky to have him.
