Jason is a pretty intense guy, but once you get past that hes a great professor. Its very hard to get an A in the class however, so dont take this class looking for an easy A. If you take his suggestions and change your work according to what he likes, youll do fine in the class. Hes approachable and critiques / grades fairly.

he's all nice but can come off as strong. I went in with a positive attitude. He basically said in the beginning of the class that it would be impossible to have an A. He was right. He doesn't know what he wants, always changing his mind about his likes. The next day he won't like it and tell you to change it. I have lost my desire to pursue art :(

Jason is a great teacher. He explains everything in detail and gives good feedback when it's deserved. His critiques may be harsh and this class is absolutely not an easy A, but I've learned more through him than any of my other professors because he's not afraid to be real with you. If you care about your projects and put in the work he's amazing.

Prof T is FANTASTIC; passionate about design; is a nice GUY. Typical art prof in that he give a lot of work but you learn; explains everything well; he appreciates and welcomes hard work; very meticulous-don't turn in sloppy work;crits are informative, positive, and tells u what you can do better; accessible both in and out of studio.

Took Drawing 1 with him. Can come off a bit strong at first but he's a really nice guy once you get to know him. He critiques everyones work pretty equally. If you're open to constructive criticism, you can learn a lot in the class. If you take things personally and dont look at the advice objectively, you probably wont like him.

Took this class over the summer. I'm a business student and just wanted to try something new. I put way more effort into this class than any of the other students that were in it and was able to create things that I didn't think I could do. Yet I got a B- and everyone else got something in the A range. I guess you could say I was pissed.

Excellent teacher. He is really involved with his students as it is a 16 person class. If you ask for help he will give you his full attention and you are guaranteed an A for showing interest. Don't go too far outside the box on projects, follow the directions and keep it simple and you'll be fine. If given the chance definitely take his class!

Great intro class from a great professor. He's really nice and appreciates hard work. The projects are pretty demanding and come crit you can tell who slopped together their work. Travers is really enthusiastic and always pushes his students to do their best. Loved the class and learned a lot.

I took DES 005 with Travers two summers ago. I can tell you that going in, I had no artistic ability or training whatsoever, and just wanted to learn Photoshop. Even if you're a cold, prickly, heartless engineer like me =P, this guy will help bring out your creative side. His enthusiasm for his subject is infectious (in a good way).

Good course. He gives you a lot of work, but that's a lot better than just sitting there for 3 hours at a time learning nothing. He's very critical of your work, but in a good way. It's supposed to be design foundations, but a good part of your grade will depend on how artistically talented you are.
