Prof. Frankel is the best professor I have ever met. He is the classical type of professor like Theodore Von Karman. I learn a lot from Prof. Frankel, he taught me how to look insight and use mathematical tools to handle engineering problem. The students who blame Prof. Frankel don't understand the essence of mathematics and engineering.

This guy is awful. I took him for ME 391 and ME 344. Dropped both of them when the class average was less than 50. I then repeated these with different teachers and got A's. It is not the students; we are not dumb. Frankel is a jerk and he is a wasting his students' money. Learned more in the first two weeks of repeats than his whole class.

Frankel was by far the worst teacher I've ever had. For our last project I was told by my Math 435-Partial Differential Equations teacher that the math involved to solve the problem was 600 level graduate material. I was a 3.9 before I failed his class my sophomore year. Thank God Eciki replaced him. B- with Eciki and I learned more

Very hard but overall a good professor if you don't like math you have no business being an engineer anyway and deserve the D-F the whiners here got. Call it quality control if you will.

This guy is hard, and his grading is even harder. But he does teach and is actually pretty funny sometimes. He gives different projects/exams every time so it's hit or miss on the difficulty of the grading. You will need to put the time in for this guy. My suggestion is to go over your reports with a fine tooth comb

This guy is tough. It's a required class to take unless you take it in the summer, so avoid him if you can but if not be prepared to do research on your own for some or even all of the projects you do.

Suck it up. Be a man and quit blaming the teacher. How about investing your "hate" energy into teaching yourself the material. Take some initiative. You decide how much you are going to learn. The teacher is only there to guide you. The concepts are hard. You definitely need to try not matter who your teacher is. It will be fine.

Very tough teacher. He expects you be a big boy and figure things out on your own. Yes this class is definitely hard but sometimes it's nice to have a class where you don't have anyone holding your hand. I think if you can look past blaming the teacher you'll learn a ton. Oh and he is actually pretty helpful if you ask. Pretty funny too.

ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE WORST TEACHERS I'VE EVER HAD!!!! This guy is terrible. He teaches this class as though we are graduate students. He tells us every class period how the education system has failed because we don't understand the "basic" mathematic principles needed for his approval. ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS..grades very harshly and unforgiving

Dr. Frankel knows what he is doing, you just have to TRY a little harder then in normal classes. He is a hard teacher, but if you want to learn this stuff, it will be ok.

Won't help his students. I asked for help all the time and got nothing but riddles and obfuscating answers. The man can't teach at all. Only take his class if you want to hear about his traveling or how much he likes to drink.

He takes the time to help anyone who asks. People are intimidated and blame him rather than taking initiative to seek his help and learn.
