I am very glad I took his theatre classes. I took this class along with his Acting I class and I have learned so much more about theatre and I have been able to develop my acting ability tremendously. Unfortunately Acting II was removed from the curriculum, but I would have taken it considering how much the other courses have helped me learn.

Great guy and teacher. If you are dreading taking a speech class like I was, try to take his. He makes it interesting and comfortable. You get the grade you work for, so if you but effort in you'll have no trouble getting an A or B.

For those who hate public speaking, I would recommend his class. In class we had to do a fair amount of speeches. He is fun and makes class not only likable but makes it a comfortable atmosphere for speeches. The text book is rarely used, I did the reading for the beginning of the semester and then stopped. Jay is an amazing teacher.

Jay is a great teacher! I took Theater 151 with him and I was nervous at first because I am not an actor what so ever. But I ended up having a lot of fun in this class and meeting new people. Jay is very clear with expectations, and his lectures are important for tests. He is very funny and personable. I would defiantly take another class with him

I took his class in the summer, I didn't feel as nervous as I thought I would. He was an awesome teacher, the only speech that I didn't like that he made us do was a on the spot speech. Other then that I received an A in the class. Wasn't too hard to receive that grade.

Jay is very kind & his acting class was very engaging. He's very helpful in giving useful feedback. He has a bunch of super fun acting exercises and although you do have to work for a good grade, the assignments are pretty enjoyable. Whether you want to be an actor or not, you can still learn things from this class. I highly recommend it.

I loved Speech class with Jay!! He grades on how well you do and doesn't compare you to others in class. He lets you write your speech and lets you be yourself! He is always available outside of class. He's a great teacher and actually cares about what is going on in your life and who you are as a personstudent!!!

Jay's such an amazing teacher. You never leave there without being unsatisfied. Yeah there were a lot of speeches, but they were all helpful. He really makes you feel at ease when you're saying speeches. I'm really stubborn when it comes to PS but after his class I noticed I'm really enthusiastic in front of people. Great teacher be sure to get him

Jay was awesome for SPE 151! Very up-front with what he expected from his students, and was very fair in his grading. If you struggle with public speaking, he is easier on you, and if you are good at public speaking, he challenges you to become better. Only drawback is you have to buy the book for his class.

AWESOME! u go to class lectue, other days listen/give speeches. He is great easy class. Grades based on how U did not how u compare to everyone else speech. Gives great feedback and makes it easy to give speeches! AWESOME teacher. highly recommended

Jay is hands down the best speech teacher I have ever had. I would highly recommend him to other students who need to take speech. He made going to class fun. I took this class intersession and thought it was going to be boring but, it wasn't boring at all. Class was fun.

A professor at the top of his game. Wonderful instructor, and a deep sense of what works on stage. A director who knows how to elicit emotion while staying true to the words on the page. Also, a terrific sense of humor and fun. Witty and engaging. Will let acting students take chances (he welcomes them) but despises lack of commitment.

Hands down the best speech teacher I have had. He makes going to class fun. I can tell that he loves his job and he always tells you what have to do to get an A on a speech. I would recommend signing up for his class.
