I recently reviewed my transcript from years ago. I had no idea how many courses I took from him and I was not a Geology major... far from it! I learned from him so I continued to take his courses. He was a wonderful professor. I enjoyed his learning projects and assignments. They were practical to the topic.

jay rocks. the guys crazy about geology. he is kind of unclear but he allows you to be creative within the stuff he doesnt specify. all of his classes are fun. you gotta show up and look interested. hes helpful and is a good guy. fieldtrips are fun. good gen ed science credits/ gpa help.

Jay is a horrible teacher! He is very unclear, but expects a hell of a lot from his students. Be ready to spend a TON of extra time OUTSIDE of class for work, such as group projects, field trips, labs, etc. Expect to not learn anything from this man. Wasted time, wasted money...
