Comment:

Vasellas is a very good professor and I would recommend him to anyone who is not a big history person. He is very laid back. His lectures are interesting but he also gets off topic often but it's not a big deal. We don't have any exams instead, you have to write 4 essays but you get to choose from 14 chapters. I hate history but I enjoy it with him

Comment:

Professor Vasellas is the nicest most genuine professor. He does not give any exams, instead you have to complete 5 essays from a list of 15 prompts. If you get a low grade on one essay you can submit a 6th essay to replace the low grade. He is an easy grader and the essay prompts are easy as long as you take good notes and pay attention in class.

Professor Vasellas was a great teacher. His personality and passion for what he teaches keeps his class' attention at all times. He's an extremely funny and kind person, I would HIGHLY recommend you take his course, even if you hate history like I do!

Professor Vasellas is a truly remarkable teacher. The class is all lecture, which he tries to tie in with personal examples he's experienced, which makes the class interesting. He wants you to complete 4 essays, as well as a group project at the end of the semester, which wasn't too bad. I would love to take him again!

Assigned two 8-10 page papers. And one 3-4 page cumulative paper. Longest papers I've ever written. It's an interesting class, very nice guy and gets along with practically everyone. NO visuals, pretty long lectures interspersed with funny stories/examples.

He is a good teacher except his essays barely relate to what is taught in class. The essays have five components to it and you have to research all the information on your own. He likes group work. I thought it was a lot of work for these essays (10 or more pages, five essays plus 2 projects ) which are primarily your grade. You work for your grade

This guy is the man of all men. He's older, but he's awesome. He speaks without notes or powerpoints, but he doesn't ramble. He is very interesting and extremely knowledgeable. I wish he taught more than one class. For AmCiv I, take him.

Best teacher I ever had at York College! He tells you interesting stories and makes the class enjoyable. Definently take him, if you want an A. Take good notes and read a little out of the book and you'll be fine. Take really good notes for the 3rd or 4th test. It's an open note test.

Great guy, Loved his class. take him if you can. The Quizzed and tests are not that hard if you do the assigned readings. So into History that it comes out of his ears. He really know his History from all facets and it shows. Good Job YOU!

Great Professor. Had him for a night class and boy can that man talk. So into history and loves teaching it. Quizzes every week, threw the worst out, Quizzes (short essay) 50% of grade, Final (MC)(terms from the semester given out b/f final) 50%.

he makes history fun to listen to, his test aren't that hard, just study. he goes over EVERYTHING on the test. only bad thing is there is a test almost every week, but he drops the lowest score. he's awesome
