I took him for Contemporary Issues of Native Americans and I loved the class! There were only about seven of us in the class, but that allowed for us to have more in depth conversations. It was only once a week, so it was a three hour class. Be aware though, he loves to talk and he will talk the entirety of the period. I loved his class, though!

His class was easy, but that's all that is enjoyable about his class. He doesn't like people that are non-Indian. You have to agree with him about everything; even a comment about how "strange" some of the stories are, even questions about it, might make him yell at you. As long as you don't argue back, and do the hw, you will succeed.

I like the topics that we discuss on classes, but sometimes he can be kinda of boring and repetitive. Dr. Vest knows his material and can give personal experiences to go with it which I find quite interesting. The same goes for his AIS 2010 class.

Had him for 4 classes now. Hes cool as long as u do ur work and dont sleep in class which is hard at time and NO cell phone!!!! Great teacher though

Can be a bit longwinded with his stories, but very interesting and entertaining nonetheless. BE WARNED! He does not tolerate sleeping/disrespect/backtalk/smart-mouths of any kind! So if you have a tendency to "buck-the-system," stay away from his class! Encourages class participation and will call on students who do not look engaged in learning!

Where do I start. I agree that he does not like to be challenged on his ideas/teachings. He seems to know a great deal but doesn't know how to get it across. Oh yeah, he's a complete pain and will not hear you outside of class. He's right, you're wrong...that's that.
