Jay isn't that bad of a guy, but his class is no cake walk by any means. He makes you work for your grade in class. With this class, there is a lot of work that you have to do and it can be tedious. He does offer hella extra credit so there's really no way to fail.

Comment:

Good teacher, but has long and boring lectures. Attendance is mandatory because of the college, not him, you can sign the paper and leave. Lots of papers, but understanding we all have social lives and jobs. If he fixes the long boring lectures it would be a cool and fun class.

You could not pay me to take another class with this professor, the ratings here are true about him. He should be fired immediately as he actually doesn't teach a lick about poly sci. He always brags about being a baby boomer and its like cool but can you actually teach something? My recommendation is to avoid this prof. at all costs.

This is by far my least favorite professor a I have ever had. The average grade he gives everyone on assignments and tests is a C. Nothing satisfies his grading criteria. His lectures are mandatory and hard to sit through. I would not recommend taking this professor to anyone. only reason I got a decent grade is extra credit.

His class has many things required. 3 projects, 3 essays, 1 or 2 chapter quizzes weekly. Hes not that bad of a teacher, just his lectures go on and on and become hard to listen to. On the bright side, he does offer extra credit

He seems like a very organized guy, but when it comes to grading papers and other homework assignments it doesn't seem like anyone can give him what he wants. The average grade on all of our big assignments hasn't been above a C. All he says is to read more of the lecture notes when asked for help and all the lecture notes are a bunch of links.

Almost every class was a full two hour lecture. Not that this is bad, it is just very dry and hard to do. He is a helpful grader and gives feedback on essays. He does give confusing guidelines on his homework.

If you miss a couple assignments, he will drop you from the class. Not there 2 times, you are dropped. He is very much a self entitled Baby Boomer, and even accepts and brags about it. Very abrasive personality.

ridiculous. way too much work. three essays, three more essays called projects, various newspaper analysis, 1-2 chapters of reading, a weekly quiz, various hours of videos, and extra side articles to read. why bother reading the book since everything he gives is based on his ever so long written lecture notes you have to read. horrible. skip it.

This teacher gave so much material that wasn't even used in the quizzes or essays! Waste of time! I was confused about an assignment and he just told me to look on the assignment rules instead of actually explaining it to me.

Political Science is subject matter that can be very interesting if it presented that way. The problem with this class is he lectures about irrelevant topics for 4 hours a week and expects you to just know what he is talking about. He is a really nice man in general, but would not suggest him for a teacher. Also do not expect feedback on papers.

Be prepared to watch A TON of videos. He is a good communicator and responds to e-mails in a timely fashion. He also posts grades quickly. Overall, he is okay.

Professor Z was very easy to work with. The amount of work involved for this class was unreal. Testing for this class was beyond anything I have taken to date. Always responded to my email quickly.

This class was extremely time consuming! The quizzes were nearly impossible to pass because you had to read the chapters with extreme detail. You're also required to watch a 3 hours video every week and write 2 hours worth of material on them. I don't recommend this class to anyone looking for a flexible online class.
