Comment:
Talks too fast and has an accent, which makes her lectures an ordeal. Readings were ahistorical mumbo-jumbo (she never mentioned her colleague and former McGill Dean of Arts Prof. Miller's superbly-written volume of South African history "Paint the Map Red.") She has a clear bias and woe unto those poor students who do not drink her kool-aid!

Such an incredible Professor! I love this woman. Her lectures are intense and full of detail but her tests are fair and the marking isn't too tough. She is the most approachable, helpful and understanding prof i've encountered at mcgill! Take this class and stick with it. It's not hard!

I would not say that this prof is overly easy. She is relatively unclear about what she wants for a paper, which ads a little fun. Personally I didn't find the lectures interesting, but she was a good teacher. Really nice in person.

Brilliant. If you're not afraid of a little work, you won't regret taking this course. She is very knowledgeble and actually conducts the lectures in an orderly manner, despite not having detailed slides or overheads. This was by far my favourite course of the semester...I'm only sad that it's over!

Be prepared to take notes, of course; but she's brilliant and very passionate about the material and will throw in interesting anecdotes. It's been my most enjoyable course this semester.

Gives excellent lectures, although they are VERY busy. This isn't just a repititon of "Introduction to Developing Areas" or "Developing Areas: Africa" polisci courses. A thoroughly enjoyable, interesting and not too difficult course, taught by a good professor.

Overt pro-Soviet pro-ANC/anti-Afrikaner/anti-Rhodesian/Marcuse-Deconstructionist agenda. (Called WWII RAF fighter pilot Ian Smith "notorious"). Poor knowledge of Afrikaans.

She's brilliant. A traditional lecturer, a bit too fast, but makes really good points. If you're paying attention you'll see her overall themes and points. She chooses her words carefully and is great to listen to. Very approachable.
