This class required next to no effort to do well in. The actually marks came from rote memorization of the textbook and very easy Qs. Any self-respecting econ student should be able to do this course in their sleep. It meant not a lot of stress. The real value came from showing up to his lectures to participate in the really engaging discussions.

He is a good professor. If you actually listen to him speak in his lectures, he really does break down the materials well. His midterms were very straightforward and if you know your stuff, there should be no reason as to why you can't do well. He also goes out of his way to help you if you show your willingness to learn.

It will take time to get use to him and his teaching style , very clear and helpful , you must go to class , there are few on-line readings make sure you read them carefully for both Mt and final exams , he has the tendency to give 1 or two questions of the mt strait from the assignment. Final was pretty easy

Straight forward, well taught class. If you like tax economics, you'll like the course. The assignments are fair, the tests are fair. He responds to emails and will help you with things. Good prof overall.

Very clear and well-structured lectures. All exam questions were from the lectures, so don't bother reading the textbook. I came to all the lectures, dedicated enough time to assignments and got an A+. Make sure to find a good group to work on assignments with.

Very clear with the lectures and he makes the topics really interesting and easy to understand. His tests and hws are a little difficult and the grading isn't exactly the best but it is easy to excel if you come to class and do the readings

Very math minded professor. Overlooks the fact that students are just learning this material and Wen blasts through it like its nothing. I think hes a great prof, but NOT for undergrads--the guy is clearly brilliant but can't balance the material with simplification.

Easiest 400 level Econ class to take. His first assignment was time consuming but simple, and the next two assignments took about 3 hours start to finish. You must attend class which can be dry, but he often kills time by showing funny videos clips. Examines straight from lecture and summarizes all readings in class. Take this with him if you can!

Obviously, his assignments take approximately 6 months to complete. However, his midterms and final are directly from them and there is no need to go to class or read the book or know any theory at all as long as you get the assignments. So yes its boring as hell, but hey hes better then rowse. Rowse is intense!

He was ok, nothing fantastic but was clear on what he wanted on tests and marked fairly. Explained the material well enough that I didn't have to ask about anything.

This professor will frustrate you to no end. He constantly misspelled words a six year old could spell while he was writing on the board. It took him almost a month to mark our midterms. I had an answer that was word for word with what he had on an answer key and he gave me 2/10, and then he refuses to discuss marks unless he made an adding error.

It seems an easy class but no matter how well you study, you do worse than expected because his exam questions are vague and unclear. Cuts students off when you are asking/answering questions. Gets annoying. Pretty average. pretty boring. Stopped going 1/2 way thru

CLASSIC example of someone who is book smart, but not common sense smart. Watching him struggle with and contort his body to avoid touching the rope attached to the screen in SA 147 while going from one board to another, plus the fact that he kind looks like Mao makes him THE funniest professor I've ever had (I don’t mean that in a disparaging way, I mean, he just does look like him). On workfare: 'Poor people have problems'. Another occasion when starting a new unit ‘We’re going to be going a little bit faster now… errr, umm, ah…’. At the final exam he left his 3-4 year old son lying on the floor beside the garbage can out in the hall right behind the door, which opens outwards. Luckily the exam itself was fairly easy, or else someone would have flung the door open in frustration, and the little guy would have been smacked right in the head. Overall, his class was quite simple, but I think that I have my classmates to thank for that.
