Comment:
I have taken Professor Walker for a variety of MKTG classes. This by far was the worst. I think it is primarily due to the fact that this class was online. Professor Walker is a decent professor, BUT ONLY IN PERSON. I would strongly advise avoiding her online classes. Her high expectations are hard to perceive over the internet.

This class wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Maybe because I had a decent group for the paper. Don't bother purchasing the book. Quiz and comprehensive exam questions come directly from class notes she posts on Blackboard. Keep up with the quizzes, some of the exact same questions appear on the final exam.

Worst professor I've ever taken at UHCL. There is absolutely nothing difficult about the subject but she went out of her way to make it very difficult. Quiz questions are obscure. Contradictory instructions for group projects AND her email responses contradict the instructions too! Has an attitude problem and calls you out on discussion board. Rude

Okay, I've taken my fair share of hard teachers and even if they are harsh I understand, however, this professor was VERY difficult. It's GRADUATE level I understand so I expected it to be hard. PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL. Be prepared to work. You will use a lot of your time in this class. You also need a good team to survive. Cheers and Good luck!

alot of work, she grades group paper very difficult, gives alot of negative feedback, gives points for other assignments, can pass class if you read and do work, hopefully you get a good group for your paper or you will have a low grade for your paper because she grades very difficult

I found this class was more work than expected on the team research paper. Best 5 of 7 quizzes, research paper, final exam. You better get a good team on the paper or you're doing A LOT of work on your own.

I enjoyed the class and felt like Dr. Walker gave excellent feedback throughout. She paces the work so the final paper isn't due all at once, but instead you turn it in for grading in three sections. This isn't a class that you can skate by in without putting forth effort. You are on a team, so it helps to get good teammates.

If you are a male, her classes should be avoided at all costs as she is a man hater; if you don't work with a female when doing your group project your going to end up picking multiple topics in order to please her "Requirements" her tests are straight from the textbook and reading is necessary to pass. Overall avoid if u enjoy MKTG

Face-to-face class with enhanced online learning. Professor demanded a great deal; however, was very responsive. Stay on top of your weekly responsibilities and you'll do fine. If you let your guard down, you'll struggle. One major team project, six quizzes, comprehensive final exam.

Good professor overall. The semester long project is VERY time consuming and not easy to complete, but it̢۪s doable. Tests are not hard, pretty straightforward from what you learned in class. Very helpful with questions/struggles you encounter. She answers emails in a timely manner. Not a really hard class, just very demanding and time consuming.

The other users are not being fair with this prof. The reason she is so specific is bc she knows the best way to do this project. I could understand if she were wrong, but she is usually right, so just follow the instructions and you'll b fine. She is very helpful. She gives extra credit and grades easy.If you follow instructions, you will be ok.

There is a fine line between making a course challenging and making it rediculous. Most of us are professional full time employees who have kids and other responsibilities. There are nightly deadlines. Onlines classes usually have weekend deadlines to help those working manage time, HENCE ONLINE. She gets off rejecting the brand submission project.

This class is on target for a graduate level marketing class. Yes the project is challenging, but it should be since it is a GRADUATE level class. I Learned a lot about real world marketing. I especially learned a lot about segmentation and positioning. This is a good professor. Come prepared to be challenged and, most of all, learn.

Took this course online. Too Much information for Summer session. Professor is not much help with project, no direction. Two exams, teamwork modules, 1 MAJOR project -- Hope you get a good team because work is almost overwhelming PROF IS CURT AT BEST and called people out on the discussion board Unfortunately no other Prof option available

seriously considering writing the school a letter. This class (MBA Mktg) should NOT be offered in the Summer. The Mktg Project is VERY tough to complete: Impossible to coordinate with 7 people (You are assigned teammates); You only have 6weeks to do a project designed for a 12week course. Worst class I have ever taken. (Add in 2 huge exams too HA!).

I dropped this class after seeing how the prof micromanages group projects. She doesn't let group dynamics happen organically. She tries to control the level of interaction rather than teaching the material. I was enthusiastic for this class and my group was good, butI cannot handle her control issues and childish posts. Too frustrating at my age!

In the TBA course, Walker makes you do a very in-depth, extensive mktg plan w/ a group (online groupwork is tough, esp. the amt she requires). She didn't know the software & you had to view multiple instruction sheets to figure out what to do. Her responses to questions were useless & created more confusion. This class killed my interest in mktg!

Took Online, worst class ever. The assignments and the whole class in general, is pointless. I learned nothing. I don't even think the professor knows what the general concept is that she's trying to teach. Massive amounts of group work. 2 reports, 6 Quizzes, and 2 exams.

I was nervous to take this class after reading the reviews on this board. Dr. Walker was an excellent teacher. While we had a lot of work, she made her expectations clear and was always easy to get in touch with. I enjoyed my group and although tests were difficult it wasn't anything that a little studying wouldn't help. I'd take her class again!
