Terrible professor. Says if you don't understand the material then to come in for help but then basically implies you are dumb if you are not familiar with the material because this class was designed for "freshmen". Also if you don't know something , then ask, she gets mad and tells you that you are responsible for learning the stuff on your own.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU ARE NOT INTERNATIONAL STUDIES MAJOR! worst teacher ever, toughest grader especially on short answer questions, expected you to do hours of homework a night, during review sessions she wouldn't answer questions, she would tell you to look in the book and then when no one would ask questions she got mad

Struggled on first test because I didn't prepare correctly but recovered. Knowing the material well is very important to having a good grade and succeeding in this class. PARTICIPATE in class so she knows you are doing the readings don't be shy ;).

In this class you will learn more than you ever would in any other class. The class is reading and lecture intensive so while attendance is not mandatory, missing lectures can hurt your test scores. Reading the textbook is very important and there is a lot of reading assigned. The teacher is very helpful and knows what she is talking about.

I love Jeanie!!! There will be random quizzes based on the previous night's reading, so make sure to read. Her lectures are so interesting and also have information that won't be in the books that will be on the exams. Not showing up to class is risky and can cost you some quiz grades. There will be quite a few extra credit opportunities though.

I.S 103/104 do not feel like 100 level classes. She has very high expectations for her students. Hmwk is usually 20 pages of reading. Attendance to her class is mandatory bc her tests lecture based. She lectures the full period and covers a lot of info so take good notes. I've never worked so hard for a class, but I have learned so much from her.

If it wasn't for this teacher, I would have a 4.0. Her lectures are extremely complicated. For a 100 level course, this should not be this involved. Tests didn't even include information from the lectures.

Dr. Bukoswki is nothing short of a delight. Really made me gain an appreciation for the material and I would recommend her to anyone. Not terribly difficult, but only because she makes it clear what she wants from you. Absolutely buy the textbook, it's essential to the class.

Keep up with the readings. This is probably the toughest Jeanie Bukowski class, but you will learn so much. Don't procrastinate on the take home exams. Dr. Bukowski is a wealth of information and a wonderful mentor.

Do the readings and take notes before discussion. Be able to apply concepts and connect theories to major EU developments. It is a tough class but completely doable - just put the effort in and participate. There are 2 take home exams - do them well in advance and leave time to edit. McCormick and The Economist make up for the beast that is WPY.

Do the readings, attend class, participate in discussion, and take detailed notes. Her tests are based off of the readings and lectures. It's a lot to learn so don't procrastinate. Dr. Bukowski is passionate and has high expectations, but the class is worth the work. You will truly learn in her class. Also, read the news.

Dr. Bukowski is phenomenal. She breaks down the information really well, and you will learn so much in her class. There are 10 pop quizzes, but she drops the lowest 2 grades. She also offers extra credit opportunities. You must keep up with the readings and attend class to do well. Her tests are very fair and are directly from the book/lectures.

This class is HARD. If you're an IS major it's required so get through it, but you have to really think in this class. It's very philosophy based. 2 take home exams-roughly about 12 pages typed of answers and a 7-10 page paper on your perfect utopia which is a lot harder than it sounds. She's helpful, but if it wasn't required, I wouldn't take it.

She is an amazing professor. She expects you to keep up with the readings because you do have 10 pop quizzes throughout the semester but they're only ever 4 questions with two multiple choice. She's super helpful outside of class but you have to participate in class. She isn't going to let you sit there and not answer at least one question.

Great teacher and class. Most energetic teacher I have had, and very knowledgeable. Last two tests are take home tests. One paper to write on an EU topic. It requires a good amount of reading and she is a hard grader, but an A is possible if you work hard. I learned a ton from this class.

This class does take reading and work, but nothing that some regular studying can't handle. If you read the required readings as they are give, the class is not diffucult. Don't try to procrastinate! Does not work.

The class itself is a bit difficult, but managable if you stay ontop of the readings. Also have to keep up on world news for quizes and such. Professor Bukowski is an amazing teacher who is very passionate about the subject which is apparent with her enthusiasm. She will take the time to sit down and go over stuff 1on1 if you are having trouble.

You have to take her for IS 103 and 104. If it's available at a community college and the credits transfer, I'd recommend taking it there. The class was hard for me, even after doing all the readings and attending almost all the classes. I didn't learn any of this in high school though. She's very intimidating, but can be helpful if you go to h
