Mrs. J is a wonderful teacher. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about Music and it shows in her teaching style. There is a reason she has the nickname 'Momma J'. The textbook is used for reference and to help get a point across. Take notes, and look them over the night before the test. Show up for class and everything else is cake with her.

I took Mrs. J for ear training and sight-singing. This class was the hardest thing I have had to endure my entire life. Do not skip class or you will get a zero and the test's are critical to your grade. Give anything less that your all and you will probably fail. Love Mrs. Johnson and if she was not so amazing a person I would have dropped.

Clearly passionate about music. Experienced singer. Easy class. Some textbook use, but not much. Did not allow online sources for papers. Taught some information that was not entirely accurate. Good story teller. Made the material interesting. Overall, good teacher. I would recommend taking her class if you need to take MUSI 1306.

Took her for Music appreciation and voice. I LOVE Mama J. She is a outstanding educator and I recommend her to anyone I can. She is a jewel in Kilgore Colleges crown.

I had Mrs.Johnson for music appreciation... I loved her because all you had to do was take notes during class and study them and you would do well on the test... if you're not a great note taker then you might not want to take her... she never uses the books... only for references...she makes everything very interesting! DON'T BE LATE TO HER CLASS!

Too amazing! Although I feel that she should better serve the students by being a history proffesor since she is so well traveled. She makes the class interesting. So much so that when it is time to wrap up the class lecture I was upset that I would have to leave soon. Oh, and if you listen to the lectures well the tests are gravy.

Mrs. Johnson is a really cool teacher, easy to understand and fun to listen to. She makes the class really interesting. One thing is that you CANNOT miss a class. You will miss plenty of info that will be on the test and missing a day can pretty much make you have a B on the next test. Either way, she's a really cool lady and awesome teacher.

Mama J is great. Somehow she made me ( a percusion major) able to pass Aural skill. All you have to do is ask and she will help. I transfered to NSU and what she taught me made me able to jumpp right into the program here.

very funny and down to earth requires one paper and attendence to atleat two concerts dont worry about taking notes in class though it helps to listen she reviews lots the day before the test and tells you everything on it
