I took Professor Ayres's Canadian Politics class at UVM and it was one of the best classes I've ever taken. For a 3 hour lecture from 6 - 9 at night, Professor Ayres made 3 hours fly by and was very enthusiastic and engaging with the Canadian political system. He grades better than any professor Ive had and is just a cool guy. Take his classes!

I really enjoyed this class. Professor Ayres' high energy lectures can be all over the place, but his enthusiasm for both the subject and his students makes up for it. He's always available to help however he can. His grading of papers and tests is a bit subjective and I never quite figured it out.

I had Prof. Ayres for Canadian Politics & I.R. he is truly a passionate and smart man! BUT his lectures are all over the place and it felt like he had ADHD when he lectured. He is a funny nice guy so class is entertaining. I just would study the readings to actually prepare for his exams and I always got A's that way!

Canada. Hilarious and quirky. He'll stop you around campus just to check in and see how you are. His lectures are very hard to follow. Tough grader. If you don't do the reading, you're screwed. Lectures are entertaining tangents but not relevant to assignments. Ottawa was amazing! Passionate professor definitely!
