BY FAR THE WORST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD. He rushes through everything in the book as if you already have a PhD in it, has 2 hearing aids so if you didnt understand what he was rushing through, you'll have to either yell in his ear, let it go or write it down. Literally everyone in my class failed, we all ended up having to repeat/delete. STAY AWAY!!

Avoid this guy! He is nearly deaf and can't answer your questions because he simply can't hear you. He doesn't keep office hours. If you ask him a novel problem, he can't solve it. He will get halfway through the problem, check the book, see that he's wrong, and then say, "Oh, you guys can figure it out." This class is next to impossible.

Professor Councilman is hard but he is helpful too. The exams were hard but if you work with him you will get what you deserve. I got an A. It was hard to get such a grade but I think he also appreciates people who work with him and helps them. He is not that bad. If you don't understand just ask him and if he didn't hear you, you can write a note.

I have never had a teacher as terrible as Councilman. If you don't have to DO NOT take this teacher. His teaching methods are not helpful and he doesn't seem to care that most if not all of his students fail. His material and tests are to critical for the lack of teaching that he provides.

"Shame on you" for knocking Mr. C's fragile health...it's obvious you people haven't seen him fly thru campus on his mtnbike(hidden in his office). Witnessing this, i've decided his ills are a farce, to get us to read and learn and act like college students! Banter aside, I want to #$%^& puke everytime I leave his class! There are 8 people left!

DO NOT GET THIS TEACHER! He doesn't explain anything and all he knows is the examples in the book. If you show your work wrong (e.g. "abuse the equal sign") he will not give you credit even if your answer is right! And he can't answer questions because he has two hearing aids and cannot hear very well. Pick anyone but him!

WORST TEACHER EVER. when i tried to drop his class after a month he crossed out the explination i wrote on my drop class form and re-wrote his own reason, which was that I never came to class even though my attendence wasnt that bad.

As a Freshman at CSULB, S. Councilman is NOT a good teacher to take for Calculus! He will make you sick to your stomach! He will make you so confused that you will not want to ever take Math again! Stay away from him - - he is bad news!

This guy sucks. He doesn't understand questions and doesn't answer them well when he does. The class was full the first day, and 80% empty on the first exam. Most people fail. He hopefully will not be back next semester.

He;s a crazy old man. And I mean crazy hard. 80% have dropped, just the A students are left. On the test if you messed up one little number he will not give you any credit. Watch out for his contagious saliva mouth. Nasty!

He is very tough. He goes over each section partially, not covering everything, making you read, and no credit given to any answer that is not done correctly and fully, even if correct answer. He is also partially deaf. No homework due, though.
