He is an awesome professor, but tends to run out of time a lot. If you can teach yourself a little bit, you will do fine. Watch out for the Group Projects, they take a lot of time and work, make sure you get a good group and get started early! Tests are comprehensive and can be difficult take the time to do the practice problems. Highly recommend.

Prof. Berg gives a ton of homework, and grades the discussions poorly. If you don't give it your absolute all, forget getting anything higher than a C. Ridiculous amounts of homework due each week.

His lectures make no sense, you can tell he understands the material but cannot seem to dumb it down. He goes off topic during lectures to things that are way further ahead so we run out of time to learn what we're supposed to. Sucks because you wont have learned the material but have to do homework on it still. Probably wouldn't take him again.

You can tell he is really into the material and is passionate about teaching. The only problem is he'll get to drawn into a problem and go off topic. We always had 3 units to get through in a week and most of the time we made it through 1 1/2. That sucked especially for the homework because all three units were still due by the end of the week

Very good teacher. Makes Calculus II seem like an easy class. He will dig deep into problems and explain how things work instead of just giving out the answers. Will take him again any time

Calc 2 is tough material, at least for me, but Berg does a great job keeping the balance between a breezy class environment and hard work. He wants you to succeed and thus believes that you owning the concepts through rigor is apart of that success. Bummed that I couldn't take Calc 3 from him.

Very experienced professor with passion for his work. Lectures are interactive and he makes you work for your grade but offers plenty of help and tips. Very clear about grading criteria, deadlines, and what sections will be on exams and quizzes. Have taken two classes with him now because I enjoy his teaching methods and patience.

At first, I was unimpressed because I felt like all he ever did was post what the homework was every few weeks. But then I had something come up and he worked with me. You need to reach out to him, but he is very understanding and helpful. Don't expect him to hold your hand. Participating in discussions can help your grade. Just do it.

I took Jeff Berg's precalc class at UCD, not the community college, however, hands down, this is the best math teacher I've ever had. He's hilarious, clear, fair and friendly. Math class became fun when I had Jeff Berg. I've never experienced math in such a positive way, and I've never learned it so easily.

Lectures were excellent, homework on MathLab was clear, and lots of easy extra credit at the end of the semester. Having a paper textbook for the class is super helpful, but not necessary.

Taken at CU Denver. For those students who are afraid of math (I know there are a lot of them out there), this professor will be quite helpful. While you must master the material in order to be successful in his course, his lectures will bring the clarity necessary to accomplish this. His review packets closely mirror what's on the exam.

His lectures are too long so I can never stay awake and he drones on and on so it gets boring. Be prepared for multiple math assignments every week and weekly quizzes (which are very easy if you review your notes). Assignments can be repeated until you get a 100%. I took him at CU Denver. Overall he is a nice guy, just way too boring.

Very clear teacher. I had a bad experience with a previous math professor and no longer wanted anything to do with math. Mr. Berg helped me through it and offered to help me in person at his office. He's very clear and willing to meet you where you are.

Calc II is not easy subject matter- it takes time, it takes work. Professor Berg is very good. He loves his job, he loves to teach, he's good at it, and all of it shows. Also took Calc I with him and based on that experience took Calc II as well

He is very thorough and knows the subject well. All of the homework is done through mymathlab, but I filled up 5 notebooks doing the work! He sometimes pushes the deadline back if we get off of schedule. His tests are challenging, but he offers extra credit- do it if you want a good grade. He is very helpful if you are struggling. Good teacher.

Math XL really helped, I found it wasn't necessary to attend class because I learned more online from the program. The homework takes a bit of time but there's no reason you cant get 100% on all of the homework and even the tests. One of those classes that your grade is a direct connection to the time you spent working on things.
