Dense is an amazing educator. He won't just handout As like a lot of professors so you really have to work to pass, especially in Const. Law. He makes politics interesting and engaging while providing accurate insight in feedback as to how a student can improve. Class with Jeff is fun because he cares, he gets you thinking & is just a cool dude :)

Very difficult professor, especially for unorganized students like myself. Very fair grader and is incredibly explicit about his expectations. Get ready to get challenged and rise up to a new level of intellectual function. Fascinating courses and one of a kind instruction. Really cares about his students and knows his beers, much respect Jeff!

I would actually recommend this professor; however, be aware that you need to hunt for the correct syllabus. Don't forget anything, even if it isn't on the calendar or on the online version of the syllabus. Maybe Freshmen should take one of his courses just to learn the hard way to play the "can you find the correct syllabus and follow it" game.

I highly enjoyed my class with Prof. Dense. If you put in the work, you get the grade. He is very challenging and you MUST FOLLOW THE SYLLABUS. Email him for clarification; he's happy to help. If you can follow directions you will do okay. I received an A in POLS 221, so it is possible. I personally grew and learned a ton. Happy to have him again.

Even if you set aside hours for this class, it's still incredibly tough. Dr. Dense will tell you what chapters & lectures will be on the quizzes, but that is the extent to which he helps. He then picks out the most minute details for the quizzes - incredibly frustrating! He refers to an A as "elusive" in his class. Papers are graded harshly too.

Dense has high expectations but believes in students. The only reason why he assigns so much work is because he knows you are capable of the work. Don't expect shortcuts because then you're not learning anything. You're getting what you pay for -- a university level course -- not kindergarten. He hates ellipses and loves Cheetos.

If you have the chance to take this course elsewhere DO IT. FREAKIN. DO IT. And if you can't. Do NOT take this class with a full schedule. You will regret it.

If you need this class for your major DO YOURSELF A FAVOR PLEASE TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU CAN. I would have much rather taken this course through Mount Hood Community College even if it was at 6pm. Lecture videos are ridiculously long and boring. Really? You couldn't have constructed a lecture through the actual course?

Comment:
His quizzes are intolerable. Petty, petty, petty. He will tell you that he is a "key concepts" guy. No, he isn't. He will quiz you on the most petty, irrelevant, insignificant parts of the reading. If you want to pass this class, focus on the petty and insignificant, and ignore the broad and important. That being said, the readings were interesting

DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE unless it is your only class for the semester. His syllabus is complicated and you will find yourself swamped in readings, lectures, and back to back assignments. Completely unrealistic expectations, especially for online students. Covering WWI, WWII, & the Cold War in two weeks? preposterous!

Professor Dense is an priceless asset to Eastern Oregon University. I have taken several classes with him and have left with more knowledge than I ever expected to gain. He pushes you to do better and will not give you a grade you don't deserve. Yes he is very difficult, but heck that's what students need before going out into the real world

Political Science Professor, so obviously he's arrogant. Make sure you memorize all 10 pages of the syllabus, as you will be held to it by the letter. Even though I was passionate about going into Public Administration, I not willing to deal with this individual so I switched to Business Administration.

He assigns lots of writings with specific guidelines that you waste time trying to meet a ridiculous deadline only to find out he isn't grading it; while he's vague on the graded assignment, and you may find out about it the day before its due. Disorganized & unrealistic
