REALLY helpful and kind professor. I didn't skip any day but I don't think I would pass if I did. The homework is all on WebAssign and not too bad. He can get scattered but as long as you know how to do the computations you will pass. He is willing to work with you on anything and is really good about email. 3 tests, final exam, and homework.

My Study style: Oral+Visual , Practice 5 week Summer course. Info packed, but VERY do able. Will take time either 1:1 or in class to explain things. A bit goofy, but knows his stuff. Just pay attention to what's going on and practice (main point). Will not do well either practice/homework. Main focus: practice not til correct, but til understood.

Dr. Dodd is possibly the best professor at JSU. His class is based very heavily on test scores, but he gives you all of the materials you need to do extremely well, and is very generous with partial credit. He is always available to work one on one after class, and makes it well known that he wants you to pass. In general, TAKE THIS CLASS!

His test are way harder than any homework that he assigns. He grades the test on a curve and he has to because if he doesn't then no one would pass his class. If you fail a test then there is a good chance that everyone else did too. Be ready to go to his office a lot to ask for help.

He isn't the best at explaining, but he is a really easy grader. He is very nice and will do his best to answer any questions you have. He is one of those professors who is ridiculously smart but is weird with limited social skills. Do the web assign and homework, and you'll be fine on his test. He gives a lot of credit for just showing work.

He was willing to help when needed, but he stays on one problem the whole class. I basically taught myself the whole semester.

I really did not like this class. I along with half the class are failing it right now and my only saving grace will be the final (which is not really that all promising). I have been getting my engineer cousin to tutor me on the weekends.

He is my favorite math teacher. In class he does his best to explain things in a way that everyone is able to understand. But, his thought process is on a higher level than most college students. He truly cares about you and does anything within his power to help you understand the material. He is also willing to help when you are not his student.

Dr. Dodd was very nice and always willing to help, and answer any questions you had. He's a talker and will spend a whole class on one problem. Not being very good at math, I had some trouble learning from him because he doesn't review very much.

He is not a math teacher but a mathematician in a teaching position. He messes up in his examples. His tests are very difficult but he will replace and grade lower than your final exam grade with that grade. Get ready to teach yourself or go to his office for one on one help. Eager to help you.

Professor Dodd LOVES math and he is very passionate about it. However since he is such a math person, it can be hard for a "non-math" student to keep up. His tests were harder than the homework and the homework was harder than in-class examples. I would suggest him for upper level math students.

He is my favorite math teacher for sure! I was a math major for a while, so i've had a few. He is very easy to talk to and receive help from. If you do your homework and the reviews, the tests aren't hard at all. You will have to work for it, but again, he is a great teacher and wants you to actually learn it. He also gives a ton of partial credit!

Dodd is an awesome professor for Calc II. He explains theory very well, so you understand and can remember how to do the problems better than professors who just give you formulas and whatnot. His tests are hard and you do need to pay attention, but he will help you with whatever you need and his office hours are really helpful.

Best teacher for any Calculus at JSU if it's a class you need to pay attention in..like an engineering major. He explains theory very well and gives out weekly quizzes with notes and examples. ..took Cal 2 over the summer for 8-weeks, had to drop by midterms bc I wasn't passing. Hard class, good teacher, don't take it over the Summer!

He does teach theory not application. His test are nothing like his homework. His examples are nothing like the test either. He also messes up on a lot of the examples he does in class. You will spend most your time teaching yourself.

You don't have to be a math major to pass his class, but make sure you do the homework so that you have questions to ask in class. I learned more and did better on the tests when I did the homework (even though the homework is not graded, only the tests and WebAssign are.) Make sure you pay attention to catch his mistakes and do your work :) Easy.

Tests are nothing like what is assigned for homework or review. He teaches in theory not application. Tough but alright if you study 24/7.
