Brilliant man. A little bit cocky, but I would be too if I were brilliant and had a ph.D in Mathematics. Can be unexpectedly hilarious. Crystal clear presentation of the material. He is certainly not an "easy" professor, but you'll learn a lot from him.

Worst teacher I've ever had in my entire education. Doesn't give a syllabus and explains a million things EXCEPT how to do what you're doing. If you're bad at math, don't risk it. If you're GOOD at math, don't even try. Teachers like him are why we should not have tenure.

Do NOT recommend him for math. He is unclear, unprofessional, and shows up late for class. The first three weeks were nothing but a wild goose chase over a book we didn't even use. He is condescending and rude, and the math dept won't do anything about it. Did not learn anything.

I don't recommend this teacher for anyone who is weak in math. He doesn't give any homework at all and your grades are completely based on how well you do on his tests. He will go over 100 ways to NOT do a problem and barely go into detail about how to do it correctly.

Although I didn't do as well in this class as I would've liked to have done, I still feel that I came away knowing more about group theory than I ever had. The purpose of going to school should be to learn, not to make a good grade. Dr. White really helped me understand a complicated subject.

this man is an idiot! he studders the whole time and will give you 5000 different ways to do one problem! i have NEVER had trouble in a math class until i took his class! it's sad when my tutor, who had never taken the course in his life, could explain things better than my teacher!

YOU CAN NOT USE CALCULATORS...He does not use the book except for like 3 sections... which you can copy from a friend... you print off worksheets and work on them and ask questions in class. Very easy if you do some of the worksheet problems.

Very tough, but not unfair. Be prepared to work hard. If you get an A, you've really earned it. He doesn't give out anything and if you're a Math major or minor, he expects you to be smart. Will make you a better student if you hang in there.
