Took the class online over the summer. There's a decent amount of work to do and if you truly pay attention when you're reading then the course is super easy. Responds to emails quickly and his grading criteria is really straight forward.

I am not a history major, but Dr. Gall made this class enjoyable. You read 6 books and write 6 short 1000 word essays over the books. Also, there is a larger historical research essay that you are required to look at newspapers on microfilm for. Doing this is a pain, but not unbearable. Finally you have the midterm and final. Do it all to get an A.

Probably my favorite professor so far hear at Truman. He is the man. Although he is a great teacher so much reading is "required" you could by pass some of it easily although a lot of it is good interesting reading. I got an easy B and hardly read the boring books. Great guy and still talk to him even though i don't take his classes.

Best professor ever. Having said that, this class was no walk in the park. I have little interest in history which made it difficult to get through the TONS of reading required for he discussions, quizzes, and tests. However, it was his fatherly attention and concern for his students that made this my favorite class. Great guy. Highly recommend.

Dr. Gall was the best teacher I've ever had! I hated history in high school and the way he approached it changed all my feelings on the subject. His class was a lot of work, but it was actually interesting and he made things easy to understand. If you take history, take Dr. Gall!

Gall is a very enthusiastic professor! He will be very clear in what he expects on tests and quizzes; these in themselves are not overly difficult so long as you actually study the material. He also takes time to actually check in on students, making him a very likable person.

Comment:

One of the best teachers I've had. There is a lot of reading, but that is to be expected in any history class, but his books are very interesting and easy to read. Tests are all essay so that can be a bit hard, but he really prepares you well so as long as you do what he says, you should get a good grade. A nice and helpful person in general.

Dr. Gall is a great professor. His class is moderately challenging, you have to keep up on the readings, but I have learned a great deal. He is always willing to discuss subjects on and off topic after class and is very engaging in the classroom. If you love Trivia he is always randomly throwing out questions. I highly recommend him.

he is good teacher, but there is a ton of reading, i mean a lot. he assigns 2 novels to read, and along with those, you have to read a textbook and a supplementary book at the same time. if you don't mind reading a lot then take him, he is an interesting man. if you are just taking this class for the modes of inquiry, try to avoid him.too much work

Dr. Gall is definitely my favorite professor of all time. Not only are his classes great, he is a great teacher and really shows enthusiasm for what he is teaching. Fairly easy, just do your readings. Everyone should have an opportunity to experience a class with Dr. Gall. You won't regret it.

Dr. Gall is amazing. He's the nicest professor on Truman's campus and makes an effort to learn your name and get to know you. His class was very interesting and the tests were easy as long as you prepared for them. The two books you have to read are interesting as well. I highly recommend Dr. Gall

I dont care for Dr. Gall. I think he picks favories. All in all he isnt a terrible teacher but I think he almost has a stuck up personality. He is extremely nice but he knows he is smart and I think that is something that I just didnt like about his personality.
