Don't do this to yourself. Going to this class was literally a pain! Gordon rambled aimlessly and the TAs during the labs weren't much help either. Don't do it!!

So glad I took this my freshman year, Dr. Gordon is a brilliant man and the class definitely enhanced my critical thinking skills. If you take his class it helps to already be philisophically minded, he isn't a teacher that's easy to understand if you arent. Cares more about his students than any teacher, if you work and like to think he's for you.

Professor Gordon is not an easy professor. Your grade depends on how hard you work. If you put the effort, it will show. Brandon was a wonderful TA, who took the time to dissect Gordon's teachings. Go to class, read, re-read, go to your TA, and you will do just fine.

Loves philosophy but is unclear during lecture. Gordon is a good guy though. Quizzes every day about the previous lecture. The lab instructor I had saved me

Gordon is a really nice guy and is really passionate about the subject. Tests and quizzes are difficult if you don't read and re-read the essays. I had a hard time with this class and could only get a B, but the material is interesting. You need to put a lot of time into this class. Unfortunately, I felt this class required too much of my time.

Reading intensive! Gives quizzes over the readings at the beginning of almost every lecture so try and keep up and dont be late. Go to the labs, the IAs help a bunch. Lectures can be pretty painful, just warning you. Its possible to get an A, but youll have to work for it. Has quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Gives reviews & hints, which help too.

If you're interested in preparing yourself for college take Dr. Gordon. He is a good lecturer, yet the material is tough and confusing. Dr.Gordon offers plenty of extra credit and curves.

People that are receiving a bad grade in the class are not used to the workload and readings. He gives the questions to the quiz before lecture, you just have to find the answers. Read before class and pay attention. Take notes quickly and you should be fine. I would not recommend Gordon if you are lazy, or hate reading intensive courses.

Do NOT take Gordon. He basically rambles on about nothing and is way too hard to comprehend. If you read the book, you'll do well on the quizzes but listening to him for an hour and 20 minutes is pretty unbearable.

The people who are complaining about him being a bad teacher are just lazy, his lectures are really clear and unless you don't take notes or don't attend lecture you wont have to use the book at all. He's my favorite professor and I'm doing extremely well in this class my first semester of my freshman year of college.

"Possible" quizzes emails after class...mandatory lab course. His book is not easy to understand and in the lectures it is not much easier to understand. For his quizzes you might know the answers but he rewords everything very differently to the point where you, again, don't know what you're reading. Overall I don't recommend taking Philosphy w/him

Very hard class. Gordon can be funny but his testing methods are horrible. Long essays to write, midterm and another test given back to back within 24 hrs. Readings are incomprehensible..and stupid. Study a lot & you will still make a low grade. I HATE THIS CLASS!!

I would not advise to take this class with any classes that would be hard for you.Must read and understand readings. Lecture alone will not help! Its about 4 tests and 10 quizzes. He drops 3 quizzes. He also offers extra credit if you attend certain speaking events and write a 1p reaction paper, up to 5 for 5 full points on over all course grade.

He is hard to understand. Book readings are even harder. If you need to go to the bathroom don't bother about coming back in. Also 'possible' quizzes every day. Can't be absent more than 4 times during the whole semester - not even with Dr. excuse. There's mandatory Labs. Just ridiculous. Sci classes are by far easier than this.

Prof. Gordon is a HORRIBLE teaher. He doesnt clearly teach, mainly he asks the students questions so you learn nothing from him. He puts long "quiz hints" that you have to look up two times a week because youll possibly have a quiz the next time you come. 1/3 of the class failed his last one with "0"s. His tests are hard.DONT TAKE HIS CLASS.

Gordon is a horrible teacher. Do not take this class unless you plan on devoting your every hour of free time to studying. The texts were far too challenging for an intro class and he was horrible at explaining them. He may know what he is talking about but he does a poor job at conveying the message to intro level students. The class was horrible.

A decade after college, the fluff falls away and what stands out are the salient points. It was a difficult class at the time but now I remember him as one of the best instructors I ever had.
