i love this class just do the Cerego sets and the two writing assignments along with the online Final and your good Easy A love the lectures very engaging i thought this class was going be heavy reading or strict principals with history of jazz but its not structured to make you fail its nice i would definitely take again

This is one of the easiest As at UT. Before this class I never enjoyed jazz, however I did like music in general. I never thought this class would be applied in my real life, however now I can pick out some of the pieces we learned and instruments in real life.

If this class is open you have struck gold. Do not wait for anything better because it won't come. Hellmer is an amazing musician that knows so much about jazz and music as a whole. Online "studying" is the bulk of this class. Definitely an easy A. One final and two papers about live performances you are required to attend. A diamond in the rough.

I took the class online. Participation is graded through use of instapolls. There are 5 question quizzes every week over the previous week's material. You go to 2 jazz concerts and a write about it, but that's probably the most amount of work you'll have to do. Easy class. You can tell he loves jazz. Don't take if you don't appreciate jazz.

An amazing online class. I learned so much about jazz appreciation and enjoyed going to the jazz concerts. I started listening to more jazz after this class. I truly feel like I can appreciate it now. TAKE THIS CLASS!!! You will not regret it. Plus, it is pretty easy. There are no tests, but quizzes almost everyday. The quizzes are easy.

If youre looking for an easy A VAPA credit, this is it. I really dont need to say more. In class quizzes are extremely easy and you get a review guide for each one. Easy grader for easy writing assignments. He Answers emails right away and is very passionate about jazz. 10/10 recommend

I love this class. He loves what he does and you can see from the lectures that he enjoys every minute of teaching. Also, this class is the easiest VAPA ever, so you should take it because there are no exams except for the final and a majority of your grade comes from these sets that you just have to complete. Super simple, easy A.

Professor Hellmer is so wonderful. He is so caring and really wants to inspire his students to find joy in music. He is always smiling and knows a TON. Also it's literally a free A if you just watch all the lectures and do the assignments. HIGHLY recommend wow incredible.
