Great lecturer, very clear explanations, talks slowly so you can keep up and emphasizes important information. Did use an overhead projector and limited powerpoint so make sure you attend class. Large review paper as main assignment. Very helpful with projects and will answer questions quickly.

Jeff Hutchings is seriously the best professor I have ever had. He doesn't have notes or a powerpoint....what he tells you is out of his head! He's incredibly intelligent and he clearly loves his work. Do not pass up an opportunity to take a class with him!

One of the best professors at Dalhousie. His interest in conservation biology is amazing and cares so much for endangered animals. If you have an interest in fish, you will become even more interested after his course. Basically, Dr. Hutchings rules!

Tough course but nice guy and cute in his own cuddly way. That little red beard and cute little glasses were yummy! Definitely the hottest in Biology, except maybe for Dr. Latta!
