Dr. Marx is the professor that I miss the most from McDaniel. Physics is hard and requires a lot of work, but Dr. Marx was always willing to put in time himself to help you understand. He cares about his students, and he built us up to make us better. I wouldn't be the person I am if I had never stepped into his class. +great sense of humor

Had 4 classes with him. Clearly knows what he's talking about but gives SO MUCH HW. Worst is his refusal to make accommodations. No moving class times/ind. study, no late HW, won't try explaining things in a different way, won't allow videotaping, won't write on board more. Thinks his way works for everyone, thinks I'm kidding when I ask for help.

He is a great professor overall, however, when grading and while speaking in class, he knows exactly what he wants and that's what he is expecting to get. If you don't get this answer, he won't just tell you, he will make you work for that answer. The one big downside to Dr. Marx is the extreme workload. Besides all that he makes the class fun.

Dr. Marx is a tough grader. The quality of the work is just as important as the presentation. Be sure you write very clearly, explain every step and every bit of reasoning. He will throw large assignments at you with clear expectations but no guidance. I do a lot of work for his class, but I have learned a lot.

Marx is an incredible professor. While his class is very rigorous and homework assignments are tough,he is super helpful. I went to his office hours every week and he always clarified the material until I was sure of what was going on. Always looking to make sure we understood the material. He made lectures entertaining. Lots of demonstrations.

Dr. Marx is unnecessarily rigorous, to a point that is more traumatizing than edifying. Despite this, he offers no extra credit, and he does not grade on a curve. He says if you are on the border, but you have improved throughout the semester, he will bump the grade up. But that's only if he likes you. Finally, he is a bit cocky, which is annoying.

I dropped his class for a failing grade the first time I took it. After retaking the class with another professor, I'm taking another Physics class with Dr. Marx. He's not for the faint of heart, but if you're even halfway invested, you will absolutely learn physics in this class. Also, DAYUM.

One of the hardest classes I have ever taken, I spent an excessive amount of time on the problem sets, and really stressed over my grades but Dr Marx is one of my favorite professors of all time. He is incredibly animated and loves what he teaches. Always willing to take time out of his life to help students. However, VERY hard to get an A.

Took AP Physics in high school and got a 4 on the test so I knew all the material pretty well. This is the only B I got in college and I'm a biochemistry major. The way his class is structured just is not for the student. Weekly homework that takes hours on end are worth more than the tests. I think he is related to Karl.

Unfortunately, this class is total BS. Marx piles on homework and prep sets, yet barely goes over the material and leaves you to figure it out for yourself through a poorly written text book. He is actually a really nice guy and is helpful in one on one situations, I just felt that the class time was a waste and was poorly utilized.
