I went to lectures but didnt get much out of it, instead I taught myself almost everything. However his assignments do prepare students for exams, which are pretty straightforward. Not sure about the other TA but my TAs sections were very helpful.

In term of teaching and helping students. the Prof did good job about it. His lectures are prepared and easy to follow. Homework is a little tough for some of his "own homework". Exam is very challenge and tough. If you think you that formula is easy to use, yes definitely, then he will make it 4 times harder to compute. maybe that's his style

I can assert with the utmost certainty that Jeffrey Rabin was the best mathematics instructor I was enlightened by here in beautiful La Jolla, CA. He's one tough cookie, but he truly cares for his students, and is a paragon of what a mathematics professor SHOULD BE. Take Math 150A with Rabin and you won't regret it. It may murder your GPA though.

He gives really clear lectures and makes tough material seem easy, however his tests are extremely hard. The problem is that the homework he gives do not prepare students well for the difficulty of the questions presented on the exams. The TA I got for this class was also harsh at grading. I would not recommend him if you struggle with proofs.

He is hands down the best professor I have ever had. He is amazing at explaining concepts and I learned far more in his class than I have in any other math class. He is super nice and honestly cares about his students. His tests are really hard and require critical thinking so you really need to study to do well in his class.

Lectures are pretty easy to follow along if you haven't opened the book. He as a monotone voice which makes it hard to stay awake. His tests were difficult, but fair.

Lectures made me feel too confident. You don't learn enough from lectures, must study extra hard outside because there are not enough resources to learn. Doesn't post practice exams, doesn't give you study resources except the textbook. Homework is harshly graded, as are exams. Wouldn't mind this so much if the material was taught better.

Great lecturer - very well-spoken and easy to understand. Most of the lectures just discuss the stuff in the book so it's not entirely necessary. Tests are pretty fair and reflective of the homework (for the most part)

He's really cocky. Unless you're a math major you won't find this class interesting. He grades the homework really harshly and has very difficult exams. His lectures are pretty much him just doing the exact thing the book does. I would not recommend.

Im not a math major, so this class was a little painful to learn cause it's pretty much all theorem's and definitions. He grades on a curve, which is helpful cause the avg for the second midterm was 63/100. The lectures are usually straight out of the book, and some of the hw is really confusing. Make sure you get a good TA for this class

Out of all the lectures, I think I showed up to 4. Including mid-term days. I bombed the first mid-term, 2nd mid-term/final we got a full page of notes, and I wrote down all the solutions to the online homework, aced the tests. Did I really understand it? Nope. Glad lectures/discussions weren't mandatory :)

Incredibly difficult class, I was not prepared at all to take it and only passed because the professor didn't want to fail anyone. He's fantastic though and I hope to get him when I'm readier to take one of his classes. Brilliant guy.

He's a great professor. He is very clear, and he really knows the material and enjoys the material, which comes across during lecture. Definitely go to class - that's the best way to learn. His exams are fair, although on the difficult side because the class is difficult.

Professor Rabin is a very polite professor. But his workload in homework and tests is ridiculous. The homework and midterm was super hard and time consuming. He has a PHD in Physics not Math. So I thought this was more of a physics class than a Math class as well. Prepare to work if you take him.
