Comment:

Great professor. Russian History was a blast, and you'll learn a ton from Roberts. Lot of essay questions on tests, several book tests, but not so much participation. He's also a friendly advisor and supportive of good students. He does hate Trump, though, so be warned if that's a thing that matters to you. I'd recommend him.

Dr. Roberts is by far my favorite professor Ive had since Ive been at Tech. You have several books you get quizzed over and his exams are no pushover, but if you go to class and study the material its not bad. Theres a paper at the end too. Plus for an 8am its entertaining and fun to go to. You do work to earn your grade, but its worth it.

Comment:

Easily most difficult class I've taken since being in college. But, WW2 & The Cold War is a great class. It's super rewarding. Roberts is super easy to work with and a nice guy, but you have to earn your grade. 5 readings, 2 of which are for a 10 page paper, and 3 tests over lecturers. He drops one test grade. Would recommend for a teacher.

Comment:

Highly recommended for people not majoring in history looking to pick up credits. He's the most "user friendly" history professor here. I don't know how some of the previous reviewers can find him boring. You will read 3 or so books during a semester and be quizzed over them or make book reviews. The other tests are standard essay/id fare.

Dr. Roberts has been by far one of my favorite professors. I really don't care for history, but I felt like I learned a lot from him because he presented it in such an interesting way. There was a lot of reading to do, but as long as you kept on track with it, you should be fine.

I have taken World War II and the Middle East with Dr. Roberts and they were the most challenging, rewarding courses I have ever taken. He is not an easy professor (lots of reading, lengthy exams) and he takes history seriously. But he's also funny. As department chair, he's always around. If you want an easy A, look elsewhere.

He was ok. Not the worst not the best, either. I got kind of bored during class, but then again I feel like I have ADHD most of the time.If you wanna brown nose, lol, he likes South Park, so bring it up or wear a t-shirt. Ran into him outside of class, and seems like a pretty cool guy. Medium-hard on exams.

Dr. Roberts has got it going on! His is one of the most interesting teachers I ever listened to. He knows his stuff and makes it very clear and easy to follow. You should have an interest in the material before you take his class or he will eat you alive! But, if you like history and you are a reasonably hard worker he is really great.

I needed a class for a social science elective during my sr year and chose this one because I thought it looked easy and a good way to meet girls. It turned out that Jeff was the most interesting professor I had at Tech, and I'm an engineer, not a history major. I graduated several years ago, and I still remember taking this one class with Jeff.

Okay, so I still got a good grade in this class, he wasn't that difficult, he was just boring. An hour and a half of just blah. He didn't seem to care, and was disinterested in the students. If you like a class filled with B.S., take his classes.

Dr. Roberts is friggin' awesome! I disagree with person down there, I like the hair. Any teacher who quotes South Park in his lectures has to be a good thing. I went on a field trip to D.C. with him and he taught us so much. It was life-changing. Guess that gives away my identity, huh.

Horrible. This was just about the hardest class I've had at Tech so far and it was all because of him. Lectures were somewhat interesting, but his essay tests were very hard and required a lot of studying.
