Comment:

Jeff Schneider was one of the best teachers I have ever had the pleasure to take a course with. Yes, he was aware that most of his students found him to be unpleasant, but was not teaching to make friends, although he made at least one. He was determined to inspire students to teach themselves, to put in the work for more than just a grade.

Worst professor ever. Graduated John Jay College in 2016 with a 3.6 GPA. I went to his class in 2012. Would not explain to my class what he wanted in our papers. Was not approachable. I never missed any written assignments. His was the only class I was ever given a C in. Do not take this class.

I worked so hard to take summer classes so I can graduate early but this professor was horrible. No time for explanation, don't want you to come to him to talk about anything because its not his problem. I got all my papers C then end up got D the final grades. DO NOT TAKE HIM! His lecture makes no senses at all and TOO MUCH paper works!

Has a rule that essay corrections would only be done a week after they were handed back. So really just think of the implications. If you write a paper every week and he doesn't explain what he thinks you're doing wrong, then the mistakes will only snow ball. Terrible teaching ethic and a horrible attitude to match. Boycott or avoid his class.

At first he comes off as a jerk, but he ended up being one of my favorite teachers. This isn't an easy class, but if you're familiar with literary analysis, you'll be fine. He is very interesting, the books are good. He grades fairly, and if you read the books, the quizzes are very easy because they're all plot.

This teacher was the worst teacher I have ever had. I have never gotten below a B- on any paper I have ever bend assigned, but this man made me want to drop out of school just to save my GPA. If you need someone to clarify assignments and actually understand where your coming from, Find another teacher

Although his class is diffucult, he is an amazing professor. He attempts to make his students think and truly become better writers because college writing is no cakewalk! Unlike other english teachers, he actually prepares students for what's to come in the future in terms of writing. He is an extremely intelligent, inspirational man.

TOUGH teacher. not understanding. he failed more than half the class on first 2 assignments including mid-term. I'm a straight A student, got my first F in his class. the class started with 31 people, now it is down to 14. I might be next to drop. expects u to read 4 novels (one has 700pgs)gives no time to read them(use sparknotes). good luck!

Amazing teacher! Tough grader, but learned so much! I totally recommend him for the students who TRULY want to walk away with knowledge. If you are just looking for a good grade, try a different teacher. Mr. Schneider is strict and has his priorities set. If you can follow directions you will do fine. He teaches, no time for play!

Scary to say the least....i dreaded going to class! although once i was there, the class was usually interesting i couldn't get over how unapproachable and unsympathetic he was. I hated it so much I never went back to class. Do not take this class if your grammar and spelling aren't perfect. Very egotistical and intimidating!
