His class wasn't as hard as it could have been, but he just did not teach well. Read through powerpoints with hardly ever went over problems. I taught myself all semester. When I went to ask for help I often left his office even more confused.

Easy A. He is hilarious and helpful to students, and may be a little bit lenient. Lectures are inspirational and clear, and if they're not, go to his office please!Participation counts but not much; there are not many tests; you can make up exams and get high grades with his ALEKS lessons and homework, which is easy to get 100% just by completion.

He seems to not be serious in class, but you better take him seriously. Overall, I like Dr. Coffer and his jokes, but I wish that he seemed to care more about the class. I had him for gen chem 2 lab. He is a nice professor, but there was always problems with the online homework or labs. Having him for lab is an easy A, but make sure to study too.

If you're good at teaching yourself chemistry from the book, I recommend you take Coffer. Bob's class is harder, and while Coffer isn't very clear when he talks, the notes are straight from the book and if you teach yourself outside of class, you'll do fine.

He is the worst professor I have ever had! I could not learn anything from him and had to learn it on my own, and if you dont know anything about chemistry it is not an easy thing to teach yourself. He teaches the course at a graduate level. All of the quizzes and tests are timed.

Coffer is a great professor. He is willing to help you and will make time for office hours. It is still chemistry so it is not an easy A. Even though his lectures are long, still go. I tought myself out of the book and i did fine in the class. definatly take him over Bob.

He is so helpful. Chemistry is not my subject but I got C. If I would have studied well before tests I could have pulled off a B. I went to his office hours every week and he is sooo helpful. Quizzes and tests are challenging and he can be tricky. Much better than BOB!

class is extremely boring and he seems to make the material even more confusing then it already is in his lectures. tests and quizzes are challenging but not nearly as bad as dr. bob. GO TO CLASS THE DAY before thanksgiving break-bonus quiz! you should manage an A or B with effort. he's MUCH more helpful during office hours on explaining stuff

Loved him. I took Hanna the first semester, switched to Dr. Bob. then had to retake the second semester with Coffer. He is the BEST gen chem teacher at TCU. His tests are actually do-able, unlike Hanna and Bob's. Do some problems after class and you'll do fine!

I took Coffer first semester and switched to Neilson for second. Coffer's class is so boring and you have to teach yourself from the book but test were do-able. Neilson's class I could follow but it didn't help enough to do good on the test(way hard).If you make this same choice...you would take it back and wish you could sit in coffers boring lect

Take Coffer over Nielson. I compared tests between the teachers and Coffer was WAY easier. He is an incredibly nice guy who loves chemistry, but understands if you don't. Class is actually kind of entertaining. Class is still hard though. You have to study.

didnt explain lectures in detail, goes through material really fast, have to learn from book, tests and quizzes are really difficult, went in for help and he still didnt really explain well enough, dont take unless you have to for your major, not an easy science
