Pay attnetion or you might fail Show up to every class or you might fail Reading every word in the texts or you might fail Understand the class or you might fail The class is very challenging unless you put 100% into the class The professor doesn't give 2nd chances or extra days: you miss a paper, you get an F, even if you turn it in the day after

Easy A. If you do the readings and take notes, pop quizzes are fine. If you dont read, goodluck. You can use notes on quizzes and papers are easy if you follow guidelines. Overall, I would recommend this teacher and class. It is very interesting and you will learn a lot. Attendance is mandatory, if you miss class on day of quiz, you cant make up.

If you show up to class, take notes, and read the chapters that are assigned the class is a piece of cake. All quizzes and tests are multiple choice. There are countless opportunities for extra credit, so even if you miss a class or forget to read there are enough EC points for a safety net. Show up and put in the work and you'll get an A.

There are a lot of pop quizzes. You can take notes into quizzes, though, so if you take great notes, you'll get great grades. This class is not an easy A, and you really have to work to understand what's going on. Don't take this class if you already have a full course load. However, it is interesting and I learned a lot.

Only 3 papers in the semester. Random quizzes but can drop two of the lowest scores. His lectures suck, even with notes, the man doesn't make sense when he talks. He can be confusing and doesn't explain well. You learn more from reading, which after every 3 chapters you have a test. Never expect him to respond to you over the weekend.

Took his class online, but so glad I didn't have it in person. He's ok, very anal about things like discussion posts that are worth 10 points. He's also biased, as on said discussion posts (where he asked for my opinion) he docked me points for not giving the "correct" answer (ie, not his answer/opinion). So, say the "right" stuff & you pass -_-

The class is very interesting. In order to pass this class make sure you take good notes from the textbook and study the information from the textbook. He grades pretty harshly, but it helps because next time you will not make the same mistakes. He gives semi amount of work. If you work hard you will pass.

Class was enjoyable and the tests were all based on the readings. Very easy course. Would recommend taking it. I think he is the best sociology professor in the department.

Thoroughly enjoyed his class. Very knowledgeable on the subject, and seamlessly joins concepts with real everyday circumstances. A classmate and I decided that he took pauses like Christopher Walken while he lectured. That made it all the more enjoyable. I would take one of his classes again, and I do recommend him.

I took Intro to Soc. He is really understanding if you give him a chance. He can be a bit moody but what person isn't under a lot of stress these days. His exams are easy and straight from the textbook.

Would not recommend. He won't remember anything you tell him, he grades harshly- I don't think he likes to give 100% on papers, he gives pop quizzes. Very lecture heavy and if you stop paying attention for one second, he'll call on you and try to make you look dumb. If you skip class, you're screwed. I got a decent grade but I worked really hard.

I took social problems with him and really enjoyed the class. However if you can't show up everyday with the readings done and study for the tests then don't expect to pass the class. If you can give 90% effort, you can do well, but if you can't, don't bother signing up. Also if you put in the effort he is really nice and helpful.

Sherman would come into class in a good mood and then next time in a bad mood. If you get called on and give an answer, he makes you seem dumb even if he'll respond with a similar answer as yours. Reading is required from both the textbook & a book of articles, and he grades harshly. His voice is boring and goes late, usually. He has no grace.

Expects you to read an entire chapter ahead & gives you pop quizzes. I couldnt figure out what chapters to be reading ahead for the life of me. I would always think I read the right one, then take the quiz & know nothing on it. You could be in class everyday & would still probably do bad. I constantly fell asleep in here from his monotone lectures.

I took this class Freshman year as a prerequisite. Never on my life would I refer Jeff to any other students. He has long lectures that are very "scatter brain" and you cannot read his handwriting for the life of you. He talks down to students as if they are dumb and illiterate. It's his way or no way for Jeff. No phones, laptops or reading either.
