This class stinks. Be prepared to take tons of notes and memorize all of it for exams. This class could have been great, but all he has you do is watch movies and memorize the silliest things about them. Do not take.

Dr. Griffin is a great professor! I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about. He is VERY FAIR on his tests. There was nothing on the tests that he didn't mention in detail during the lectures. Maybe people just need to take better notes during class - as for understanding him, if you can't just raise your hand and ask him to say it again.

Attendance mandatory & participation matters. Has a speech impediment but truly, you'll get used to it soon and not have trouble understanding him. He's very nice & willing to clarify - not sensitive at all. Class is lecture intensive & a lot of random fact-remembering, but homework in minimal. Easy A if you show up & pay attention.

Don't take this class if you're expecting a blow off. All lecture based and you have to take good detailed notes or you're screwed for the tests. Only 2 test & 1 paper so it's really easy to fall behind fast. Don't bother bringing your phone or leaving during class. You only get 1 skip so make it worth it. Bad speech impediment- hard to understand

Griffin has a speech impediment and his ENTIRE class is lecture based. You HAVE to take notes as he talks & you must write down EVERYTHING he says perfectly in order to be able to study properly. He will ask the most detailed questions on your exams and if you accidentally hear him say "15" instead of "50", be prepared to lose points on your exam.

His classes are extremely easy A's if you take good notes, and know them backwards and forwards. No homework 1 quiz 1 paper 2 tests. Has a good heart but can treat you like a child. He excessively tells people to stop texting and to not leave during class. Just go to class and take notes. He does have a speech problem but its easy to get used to

Comment:
His tests are crazy specific. I mean you cant even misspell words in the fill in the blank section. His lectures often go over the time mark, because he insists that every other clock in the world is fast. He has a speech impediment so he can be hard to understand at times, but laughs about it. But he is actually really insensitive to others...

I have taken two classes with Griffin and I have loved both of them! He is such a kind person and really cares about his students. I never read the book and did well on exams. We take a lot of notes but he makes sure to go slowly and repeat himself so you get all of the material. Always take good notes! Take this class! You will be happy you did!

easy class if you go and take good notes, gives handout so not too bad, has speech problem and sometimes hard to understand but its not too bad, laughs a lot at himself and goes off topic, easy class just go and take notes no homework other than reading two books that you get to pick and the paper is easy, easy b-a class

My favorite professor on campus. He has a speech problem, but it's easy to get past and he's a good sport about it. Always teaches interesting material and tells you exactly what he expects from you long in advance. Papers are much more difficult than tests, but you should have no problems with either. Great prof!

He was a nice teacher, but his exams were very hard and you have to take A LOT of notes. Do well on the papers because that kept me in the class. Also participate in class and always talk because my participation grade helped my final one of the semester.

He's a decent teacher, we had no textbook so there was ALOT of notes (downside) but he likes to show lots of video clips, which are interesting (upside). TIP: talk b/c things get awkward if noone is talking in his classes

his voice is annoying especially when he laughs. he had us buy a $90+ book & we didnt even use it once! shows a lot of videos which was a good thing. other than that your avg. grade will be a C even if you feel like you know all the materials

1. You hardly communicate. You watch videos daily so it's hard to chat when you're watching. 2. He thinks your in HS still. Constantly complaining about leaving for bathroom or having cell out. 3. Book never used ($90+) 4. Hard to understand 5. Tests are unnecessarily hard and make most of grade. Safe to say I had a bad experience, haha.

He is my least favorite professor here at UD. Not only is he dull but this class is TV trivial Pursuit. That may sound fun until you have to be in class on Friday afternoon till 3pm. OH and he deducts for missed classes.

Loved the class, but it was a little difficult. Mandatory attendance, and the exams are hard. His enthusiasm and humor made up much of his lectures and he had a lot of experiences he would share that made the class a lot more interesting. Encouraged class participation, but it wasn't absolutely necessary. Books were a necessity.

Comment:
This class is extremely pointless. He is a boring teacher and he does not give students good notes in order for them to outline what is important to the class. He also appears to be overly pro-american and seemed ignorant and unaccepting of some other cultures. Class is overly hard and completely useless.

I enjoyed this class, I understand radio and television so much more now, i looked forward to the class. He also shows a decent about of clips tv shows etc, which are not only interesting, but help demonstrate a point he;s trying to make. Go to class, write down everything he says, and use good writing skills on the papers, and you'll have an A.

don't be fooled, the class may SEEM easy while you;re sitting there a couple times a week, but once that midterm rolls around you realize you probably won't get an A. His midterm/exam are reallly really hard and are over things you never or barely discussed and include random things from the book that he never mentions. i'll never take him again
