Lashbrook is pretty kool. It's weird, I had very different expectations of him when I first saw him than I do now. He's very upbeat and entertaining. I have trouble understanding sometimes, but there is hardly any homework. I find it interesting how he can be really quiet and then get extremely loud for a minute, then go back to being quiet again!

unclear about expectations! tests were inconsistent. picky grader (although, i think this is a recent development!) likes discussions, highly theoretical. i couldn't tell you one thing i learned from his class.

Jeff is a great professor! He really cares about you passing or failing the class and is always willing to help you. He pretty much just lectures and has open discussions, but as long as you take notes, you'll do fine.

Prof. Lashbrook is a very good teacher. He leaves his lectures open for discussion so it's not always dry and boring. This class doesn't really have a text book, just a book of reseach articles which are generally easy reads.

Garbage professor, very boring guy, had absolutely no visual, just stood there and spoke at you. Midterm exam was impossible and it didn't occur to him that there may be a problem (with his teaching style) when he stated that he was overall disappointed with the class as a whole. Don't take this man.

Prof Lashbrook is a really understanding guy who likes his job. He is good if you need help but he isnt very clear on how to study for tests. He drops the worst grade for tests and he is not bad about attendance. Though the class is sometimes boring if you like sociology he is nice

Prof. Lashbrook is an excellent educator who cares very much about student learning. He is very clear in his expectations and fair in his treatment and evaluation of students. He is one of the best professors that SUNY Brockport has to offer. You're missing out if you do not take a class or two with him.

LASH ROCKS! If you go to class and pay attention then it's definitely possible to get a good grade. He's easy to talk to and he loves when students bring things up in class. In fact, one of his favorite topics is student engagement so he's definitely up for hearing what you have to say. He was my advisor so I would definitely recommend his class!

He talks way too much, and doesn't seem to give the students a chance to talk. When he does, the class is almost over. While this is a social childhood class, he has a hard time getting into the rythem of things, maybe because this is the first semester he taught the class spring 06, but it is still boring, and he has no clear course objectives.

One of the worst professors on campus. I am in his class now, and he is a horrible teacher with horrible communication skills. He grades papers as if he was an English professor and gives good writers medicore grades. His class is useless. AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS. HE CAN'T TEACH TO SAVE HIS LIFE, AND HE WILL MAKE YOURS A LIVING HELL!!

im taking his class right now, and he is the WORST professor ever!! do NOT take a class with him if you can help it. i feel like i have gotten dumber by going to his class, and the papers he gives us are impossible, because he is looking for something highly specific, but he gave us very vague directions! i repeat- DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM!

I feel like I am accomplishing nothing by going to his class. He is BORING and he always keeps us the full hour, even when there is absolutely nothing to talk about. In order to get a 100 on his quizzes you would have to be able to read his mind, as the answers he wants are so ridiculously specific. NOT FUN.

An excellent teacher. There is such a thing as a poorly constructed question...he gets many of these and does everything he can to help students save face by answering them. Besides that, who would want a prof. who pretends to know everything? That's a sign of a bad teacher, for sure. If you're after a gimme grade, try someone else.

Comment:
Professor Lashbook is a great person. I would not however recommend him as a teacher. He is vague and difficult to understand. Despite his knowledge of Sociology, he struggles to answer questions and respond to comments made by students. A large portion of his test questions are subject to argument.
