Dr. Gau is an amazing professor because she cares a great deal about her students and knows the subject matter extensively. If you need to take a Shakespeare class I would recommend you take hers. She is incredibly helpful, and if you do the reading and the assignments this class is not difficult.

Dr. Gau was a very helpful teacher. The class i took was a blended class so the assignments were done online. As long as you do the quizzes, online practice work, and review sessions, you'll make at least a B in the class.

Dr. Gau is an awesome Shakespeare teacher. Sometimes it becomes a little difficult to follow her during her discussions, but as long as you do the readings and study the notes for tests you'll be fine. For a Shakespeare class I would recommend her.

she is easy on the eyes. but sometimes she drifts off into some sort of non-phsycial world with her ideas. just ask to explain them and study for her tests, you'll be fine

Comment:
Dr. Gau can be extremely condescending to her students and the subject matter is very difficult. Worst of all, she will give you zeroes on your compositions (a very crucial part of your grade) if you simply forget to cite your quotations, or if you cite them incorrectly. I can understand 10 points off or more, but a zero is extreme. Avoid her.

Dr. Gau is to date, my favorite professor at UNT. She loves what she's teaching, is very relatable and helpful, and encourages disscussion. I took her first for World Literature, then took her 2 more times for British Lit and the 2nd World Lit class. I'm taking her again this summer for Shakespeare. I highly recommend her! :)

Dr. Gau is my favorite teacher. She provided great insight for all of the reading and the classes were always interesting. If you study and read, you will do fine in the class. It is a difficult class with lots of reading and hard tests, but the work was well worth it.

She's a really sweet person. Her classes really hard though. You have to read a lot and the tests cover a lot of information. If your studious you can probably make a good A or high B in this class. Otherwise I wouldn't take it because it is time consuming. On the plus side, Gau is really knows her subject and picks interesting stories.

Don't take this class if you're male. Plain and simple. Gau will likely fail all males in her class. I am female, took the class, got consistantly good grades (100+ range), but if you are MALE she will do her best to fail you, kick you out of her class, or worse. She also doesn't like TAMS students, but if you keep quiet she doesn't notice.

She is a wonderful teacher and knows her stuff. She is a little wacky at times, but in a good way. She makes class interesting and doesn't like TAMS kids (which is great by me ;-P). You need to read for class, but it is fun.

She was really into her subject, but was unable to notice no one else was and therefore never brought us in. I imagine her upper level classes are more interesting, but her family values, suburban aura really bugged the crap out of me.

Pay attention. Take careful notes. Read the material. Attend every class. DO NOT PROCRASTINATE. It's the first half of world lit, so the material is older and harder to understand, but she makes wise choices that keep it interesting.
