Really incredible teacher, and loves Economics. Her lectures are crucial to what she teaches but there was no attendance policy. You will do as well in this class as you put in effort.

Had her for two classes. Lectures are clear cut and efficiently planned, she does a great job of using examples, and while tests are hard, they are very fair. Her classes tend to be hard more due to the difficulty of the material she teaches than her teaching style. I've had other professors on the same subjects and she does the best job by far.

Great professor, and probably the best professor I had. Also the hardest test maker, I have had. I learned how to do well in college, by struggling in her class. I made a C+ which should have been a B+ due to my overconfidence. However through struggling here, I have made straight A's primarily plus 2 B's since.

Platania is the best professor I have ever had - she may have been Socrates in a past life. That said, you will work your ass off for your A. Her brain is by far the hottest thing about her... stop oogling. Be smart, respectful, and ALWAYS go to class. Jen, you are the best. I appreciate your friendship, your depth, and your support. WWMD

This is one of the hardest classes at Elon never take intermediate macro if you dont have too. She is a horrible teacher and everything you need to know is in the book she only has a few assignments but they are worth alot def dont take if you dont need too!!!

By far my favorite professor at Elon. She actually makes you want to learn the material and is very helpful. Although her class is somewhat hard, if you put in the time you will do well and learn more from her than any other professor. Definitely recommend her especially for econ majors.

Dr. Platania is one of the brightest in the bus. school. You have to work hard for your grade. The 6 homeworks you will do count for 30%, the mid-term & final + one paper the rest. People do not take advantage of her office hours. She'll help you more then anyone else if you go to her often. I got an A- in the class, worked my butt off for it too.

Don't buy the textbook. You will never be required to use it, and it won't help you. She is great in explaining topics, so take notes for a few minutes each class. Lets us out early a lot, and is really nice. The class itself is difficult and there is a lot at stake at the midterm and final. If you do poorly like the person below, your grade drops.

Ok. Well. She's hot. Definitely the hottest teacher I've had at Elon. She can be tough, but if you go to class and do the homework, it's not that bad. Grading: she can be a little tough. She will count off for all minor mistakes, so just make sure you check everything over before you turn it in. Overall, her looks make up for any teaching flaws.

Tough but you learn a lot. If you fail the test on the first day, switch out. Read the textbook at least twice to get a good grade. If you are not clear and concise on your papers and homework, and if you don't understand the material go to her for help or else you will fail. Good for economics majors, don't take if you are not an econ major.

Platania is a very very knowledgable professor. She is very tough, but if you do a lot of reading outside of class and go to her for help you will be ok. If you are lost on the first day I recomend dropping. She's tough with grades, so know your macro!

Good professor, very challenging though. She will make you work for your grade but it will pay off in the end because you will be an expert in macro economics. She will be allow extentions but rarely gives extra credit. The class goes by quick, shes nice, but just tought with grades. If your papers and knowledge lag, you fail.
