Comment:

He isn't the worst but also not the best. I had no idea what my grade was because he give ZERO feedback on assignments and does not put grades up on Blackboard. He knows what he is talking about but sometimes has no idea where we left off in the last class. Also is a tough grader on exams.

Comment:

Very disorganized. He asks us what we studied last class, forgets what section he is teaching in, makes excuses to leave class or lab early, goes on rants for 10-15 minutes. My 70 year old philosophy professor posts grades online. Cannell hasn't posted a single grade the whole semester. All this is frustrating in spite of the class being very easy.

Mr. Cannell's class is fairly easy as long as you pay attention and put in a tiny bit of effort. I feel like his class is actually too easy; it's not much of a challenge at all. He sometimes comes unprepared, gets off topic a lot, and it feels like he does more ranting than teaching. He's super nice, but I feel like his class could be more serious.

Cannell is a very smart man, normally knows what he is doing, didn't my year because we switched versions of Robolab. Pretty unclear on specifics for assignments, make him give you a specific outline for handing in reports. Will help if asked, thorough in normal teaching, very likeable person, recommended if you are persistent in achieving goals.

He is such a great person and teacher. You just have to take the time to get to know hime. Be patient with him and his ocassional mistakes and it will be a smooth ride. As far as help goes--ask and you shall recieve! If it is unclear, he will straighten things up for you, just ask! The Robolab isn't hard, just boring! You'll have fun, though. :)
