He is very uncomfortable to listen to. The content of the class is interesting, and he has experience in the field (which he mentions a lot), but his jokes and mannerisms are uncomfortable. You can take it for an easy A, but honestly, I don't think it's worth all the cringing.

Very personable, entertaining professor with a ton of knowledge and experience. A great guy to get to know outside of the classroom. Not a tough grader, he likes to see participation/effort and won't kill you on the specifics like other professors in the department. Very accessible for majors and non majors.

Honestly.. Most boring professor ever. Everyone keeps saying he is so funny and fun, I thought the opposite. He only teaches lecture style with no notes, no power points, no nothing! He just sits there and talks the entire class, his jokes are not funny and he can be kind of rude. I honestly hated the class.

Dunklee is awesome. Definitely one of the most entertaining and hilarious professors I've had. He lectures the entire time but engages everyone and really makes the class enjoyable. Says it how it is. Even if you're not a journalism major or into journalism at all, this class is still interesting and Dunklee will make it worth your time.

I've been fortunate enough to have Jerry for two courses now and he's one of the best professors I've ever had. Extremely well-informed, he's both kind and entertaining, plus gives fair assignments. Do your work well and you'll get a good grade, it's very simple. You'll also never be bored in his classes. Definitely take him if you can.

One of my favorite teachers in college. My favorite class I took throughout college was broadcast journalism with Jerry.I learned a lot about myself and made life-long friends in the process. Jerry didn't let me slack at all that's for sure but helped me to do things I never thought I was capable of. So I recommend taking this class :-)

Professor Jerry is one of my favorites so far at Southern. He has a diamond-heart, and his lecture is based on real examples from his past career as a Radio-Reporter. I enjoy every word coming out his gorgeous mind, and I try to take good notes because he teaches you a lot. If I have to miss his class, I would feel empty. He is awsome!:))))

Jerry is brilliant. His course is generally pretty laid back but his projects are time consuming. You learn a lot from them though. Classes are mandatory and notes are extremely important. He talks and you write for the majority of class. If you don't go for the notes, at least go to see what tie he is wearing for the day! LOL

Don't take him. I didn't find him funny all the time, as class felt like one big joke instead of a college class. Class seemed like an excuse for his opinions. Sure, he's a "jolly" guy, but I wish I had more of a teacher than a comedian. A bit intimidating and odd. Otherwise, decent and and smart. Choose another professor.

Jerry is a funny guy. Extremely intellectual and just hilarious. I took a summer course with him and I'm glad I did. Time flew by an I learned quite a bit! Be prepared to speak, public speeches are mandatory in his class. Almost every week a speech is due, but honestly it's not bad at all! The lectures are fun and he keeps you awake! So take him!
