Dr. Kennedy is really nice and an absolutely brilliant man. This class, centered around E.A. Poe, is entirely reading and discussion with four essays - no tests. Even though I'm not an English person or much of a writer, having Dr. Kennedy for this class is still really awesome. He loves to talk and get to know his students, and is happy to help!

He is very interesting but this class IS challenging. This is NOT a blow off class or an easy "A" class. You will have a quiz on readings every day in class and a small thesis statement/paragraph due every Friday. There are also 2 large papers due. The midterm and final are hard so know your material front to back. The class is manageable.

Hated this class. If not because of him then because of the TA. The TA grades papers ridiculously and Kennedy's test don't come from lecture. He knows the material backward and forward but he expects you to know as much as him on the tests. They're impossible. Hated this class.

He seems to thoroughly enjoy what he teaches. There's plenty of required reading but it's very interesting. There are quizzes in the lecture classes based on the readings, so you shouldn't miss class too much. His humor and enthusiasm made the class very enjoyable.

Excellent class and instruction! Somewhat demanding on readings, but they are not difficult or extremely lengthy for a typical English course. Regular attendance is required to make an A or B. Very knowledgeable about material studied and very enthusiastic. Grades leniently on papers.

He is every demanding, the seminar is seperated into several TAs. The lecture is not helpful, a lot of history that does not appear on the midterm or final, and sometimes he cant finish his lectures. There are daily quizzes, and sometimes he admits the QA's are not fair

I loved this class! Knew his material backwards and forwards. I had him for lecture only (not the seminar), and I really enjoyed his enthusiasm! Demanding with his readings, but a great sense of humor and wit. Would def. take him again!

He's got a big ego, so even if you have always been called a good writer, he'll make sure you're not. There's like 75+ pages of reading to do for EACH day! He's very picky with the style of writing that he likes; if otherwise, he won't give you an A. Don't take him!

He is a wonderful teacher. He really knows about what he is talking about and is very passionate about it. However, his class is demanding. Must do all the readings. 3 papers. But its worth it. He is an awesome teacher.
