Rafiki has a great sense of humor and I actually like going into his class. He is a tough grader on papers though he even said so himself on the first day of class.

There is a lot of reading involved in the textbook, but besides that this class is a breeze! As long as you apply yourself and take notes during his lectures you should have no problem getting an A or a B. He is absolutely hilarious and I would take his class again in a heartbeat. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

He's a pretty good professor. Even though most of the things he believes in I disagree with, he still is pretty good. Keeps you awake in class and generally fun to listen to.

I was scared I was not going to pass this class. He made sure I did with all the extra help and guidance. I was seriously considering just dropping the class but Dr. Jenkins assured me I would be fine. He is funny, and approachable if you don't ask you will not pass! I loved his teaching style and he really does care about the students needs!

This professor helped improve my writing. After he assigns his papers, he has a one-on-one conference with you to make sure you're on the right track and understand what the paper is about. He does use a lot of profanity during his lectures so if this doesn't bother you, you'll be fine. I will definitely be taking him again for English 202.

Attendance is mandatory only if you want to understand the books properly. He brings up great points but was not very helpful. He looked over my paper and I made the corrections then later he made corrections to those same parts that he told me to change. The topics are too deep for a English 203 class, Great enthusiasm, but not very helpful...

He gives you study guides prior to exam dates. Exams may contain multiple choice or short answer(60 pts), and essay questions(40). You can answer essay questions at home & bring them in on the day of the exam(Not MC or SA). They're critical thinking essay questions. 5 exams, but drops the lowest grade. Offers 20pts Extra credit. Mostly memorization

This guy got me kicked out of his class because I said are you calling me out when he was asking a question and told the principle I was trying to fight him. I meant do you want me to answer the question I guess being authentic is unacceptable in his class

By far the best professor I've ever met. Rafiki was my professor for 3 courses. He is a very friendly and intelligent individual who teaches interesting topics. You just have to put some serious thought into your papers because he isn't an easy grader. I got an A grade in all 3 of his courses and would definitely take him again.

Chill, laid back. Funny and has such an animated laugh! I loved talking to him because he's intelligent yet grounded. Yet, essay topics were very abstract and hard to get a grasp on. You have to think A LOT and try really hard. But, he is more than happy to help and clarify! I wasn't too happy with getting a C, but i enjoyed getting to know him!

One of the best teachers I've ever had, not only at a JC but also at a 4 year. Loved how interactive he is with the class and he made me think critically about many topics. His grading his pretty rough, but I am a better writer for taking his class.

One of the hidden gems at Palomar College. An insightful professor who will challenge you to think critically about the world we live in. Jenkins takes an interesting glimpse at the vampire; an inspection that has, in many ways, broadened my horizons. This is my first review of a professor: Jerry should be working at a four year institution.

This professor is very kind and seems to be an incredibly intelligent person who enjoys a good argument. However, he is a strict grader. The essay prompts are also difficult to fulfill and require quite a large amount of work to actually get a good grade on despite their moderate length.

Oh boy was he a hard teacher, his assignments gave me anxiety the whole semester. I thought I was going to fail no doubt, on all my essays I got D's. Then at the end of the semester I got a C! I was happy with it.....sorta. Really hard grader.

Rafiki is an awesome guy with a great sense of humor and understanding. But his coarse is whack! The essay prompts and readings are less then stimulating and he missed more classes then I did. grade updates are non-existent as he doesn't use blackboard. Very challenging grader. 1st thing he said to class was, "4% will get A's, 40% will pass"

Super hard class, but knowing I am getting B or an A in his class makes me think I can pass any english class. To be honest i did not like the essay topics(American dream in films, the 50s family, and gender role)
