Comment:
If you have to take him like I did to stay on track, it's not the end of the world, but you would avoid a lot of unnecessary stress by choosing another section. We did learn the required material, but we also were tested on stuff that no one else learned. Uses a true curve system that gets harder to beat as more people drop the class.

DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Our last test average of a 36% pushed me to make this review. No matter what you do, you cannot succeed in this class. His "unique" scaling system ensures there are always students failing, no matter what. His impossibly hard tests include material barely if at all covered in class. He is the worst prof. I have ever had.

Worst professor I've ever had. The averages on our first two exams were a 34.9% and 46.7%. The class started with about 100 people and already dropped to nearly half that after the first exam. His test averages are nearly 40 points below the other Calc 3 classes. He's extremely rude to students and doesn't care about your grades at all.

Understanding that Calc 2 is a tough class in nature, he made this class far more difficult than it needed to be. Shows you shortcuts instead of proper methods of doing problems. Test review sessions make the exams seem easy but theyre not. Heavy eastern European accent. Gets off topic very easily then returns to the problem in a different spot.

Got an A in both cal1 and cal2, barely got a C in this class. Very thick accent but you get adjusted after a while. Prefers shortcuts over teaching the actual method. Tests unusually long and most people didn't finish. Gave someone a 0 on their third test for supposed cheating but wouldn't elaborate why to said person

If at all possible, take any other professor. I got an A in Calculus 1 and 2, but I failed three out of the four tests in the class. People who had other professors brag about how easy the class is, so take anyone else even if it is a horrible time.

There are plenty of reviews telling you to change your professor if you got Szulga. Do not take this advice lightly. This class is extremely hard even if you are good in math. Szulga is supper smart but can not teach very good. The class is graded on a curve but you still might not make it out with a decent grade. He makes the material hard.

If you can, DO NOT take Szulga. I had a friend who told me to change and I didn't and now I'm really regretting that. His lectures are extremely inconsistent and are not very helpful in studying... He says his tests are "supposed to be easy" but that's a joke. His mock exams are nothing like the real test. It's just not a good time with Szulga.

By far my hardest class taken at Auburn. Does not need to be as hard as it is. Other professors are better teachers and significantly easier to take. I highly reccoment avoiding Szulga. Not that hard of material, but he makes it ridicously hard. Biggest scale I've seen on any math class I've taken.

Expect to work hard in this course. I don't think I would have passed if I hadn't gotten a tutor halfway through. This teacher is all about stats, grading was done on a cluster curve, meaning you just had to get a better grade than peers. Strongly believes in improvement, so doing better toward end is beneficial. Course material gets hard at end.

Quizzes and tests were hard, final was easier because it was problems like the two tests. Thick accent, and doesn't explains very well. Answers questions in a roundabout way. Avoid if possible. This class shouldn't hard, but he makes it that way. If you have to take him, ALWAYS GO TO CLASS AND PAY ATTENTION.

I simply despise this man. He does not teach the proper way to solve problems. All he cares about are shortcuts. His lectures are just him writing sentences and some symbols, which would be great if he were an english teacher; but, this is a math "professor". Avoid him. Take our word for it, I didn't and thought I could handle him... Wrong

He kind of teaches you HOW to do some problems, but he doesn't explain WHY you'll need to know them or what they mean in application. You can get past his accent with a little time, but he teaches very quickly and expects you to remember everything you've ever learned. His tests do not match his homework or lecture at all. Avoid him if possible.

Terrible at communicating with students and impossible to understand. He makes no sense in class, and the topics are already difficult enough. Vaugue about homework and tests. He loves for you sketch 3d graphs so get ready. The only reason I passed was because I had his old exams, so find these or you're dead.

Some discrepancies in communication, doesn't always understand your questions. Pretty funny as a person, but not clear in lectures. Learned more from doing problems from the book and teaching myself. Tests are hard-- get access to his old tests if possible!!

This guy is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. Including my teachers from high school. Do NOT take this class if you can help it. I was good at math but his tests were impossible. The only reason I passed was because of his curve.
