I took Dr. Brown for 2 classes and had to drop them both. His study guides are 200-250 questions that are not right or wrong but matter of opinion from the books you will read. Then the test is over usually 5 chapters and consist of 50 questions. 25 are t/f, but if it is false you have to justify it. Had to quit Athens bec of him

He is very arrogant and condescending to students . Was criticized for some of the wording on a paper. I went to read some of his publications and found the same type of wording in his own work. He teaches a course required for my degree. I may just hold out on taking it until he retires.

There are a high number of study questions in this course (150-250 each exam). I followed the suggestion and wrote each on index cards and reviewed 3 times for each exam . It was a lot of writing, but it worked well. A short paper is required, but if you follow directions to the letter, you will be ok. Don't put any work off - keep an even pace.

Smart? Yes very! Hard? Yes very! He is probably the hardest teacher I have ever taken. I would both with the study guides honestly, it would be better just to memorize the chapters. Because the study is longer than the actual chapter. Not joking! He give attain dance credit, which could make a big difference in your grade, so attend class!!!

Dr. Brown is a very knowledgeable teacher. He lectures like class is a theater and has sound effects and jokes which really get interest but you have to remain vigilant with your notes. He does not play with his papers if he gives you a limit stay in that limit. He expects you to show up but offers one make up test for emergencies. His tests suck!

Dr Brown is the worst professor. If taken online, class is nothing but memorizing 500 question S.G. If taken in class, write everything he says down which is hard because he just rambles for the most part.I had both online and in class classes with him and i'd def do online bc it's the lesser of two evils. Credit is given for attendance

Dr. Brown is a great guy but WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING HE SAYS! He'll let you type your notes out during class. I tried writing them, but typing was more efficient. If he says "this is in your book" it's on the test. It's better to break the notes into note cards, as well, in order to pass the tests. Attend class, pay attention, and you'll be fine.

Jesse Brown is a horrible teacher, very smart yes. His study guide questions are extremely to long to be able to take a 50 question True/False (correct the false; multiple choice test. If you can memorize the textbook then you'll do just fine, otherwise try to avoid him at all cost!

Dr. Brown is a lazy teacher. He requires students to memorize textbooks instead of providing learning opportunities for them. He is what is wrong with college professors.

Dr. Brown has to be one of the worst professors at Athens state. Avoid him at all costs! If you want a professor that is engaging, articulate, humble, who will work with you and your schedule this is not the professor for you. Moreover his tests are meant to confuse his students as you can almost see his cynicism through his tests he constructs

Dr. Brown is very smart but he's an awful instructor. Do not take his class in online format because you're expected to basically memorize the entire textbook only to be asked 50 questions on the test that weren't on the review sheet. He is also very arrogant if you go to him for help.

Jess is a very very smart man...but he cannot teach whatsoever. His study guides are about 30 pg. with answers essay style but its for a 50 count mult. choice test! Try to avoid him, even though it's impossible for certain students who are in certain majors/minors

He is an arrogant teacher & very rude to students. He does not give time to the students to help them understand and willingly admits that he rarely hands out an A. Smart? Yes. He is and he knows it & will ensure that everyone feels inferior to him. DO NOT TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN AVOID IT!

This guy is useless online. Public Policy HAS to be taught by some form of online recorded lectures AT LEAST; he simply posts 50 question study guides online and expects you to USB the information to your brain, I guess. Prime example of how Athens' education program preaches how to teach effectively, yet some of their own educators don't.

The worst teacher I have ever had at ASU. He gives too much info to study, especially for online classes. To make an A in this class I would have to fail all the others, unrealistic expectations of students.
