Comment:

If you want an unnecessary story that goes over class time, this professor is great for that. This professor knows a lot about Spanish culture in different countries and that is great but I do not need a story of his past everyday. Also, he expects so much from a 100 level class and as a non native speaker of another language, he should understand.

Comment:

Had him for SPA 101. Loved him! As long as you pay attention and take notes, you shouldn't have any problem passing. He did tend to get off topic, but he's very nice and has a lot of interesting stories. Only issue is he keeps you until the end of class every day unless he gives a test. He tells stories after he's done teaching. Really great guy!

I tend to receive good grades when I put in the effort, however that is not the case with this class. He expects A LOT out of an elementary Spanish class. I put a lot of effort in and the grades do not reflect that. Very hard grader.

Worst professor I have ever taken up a class with. He does not teach important things that would help me achieve a greater level of understanding of the language, but imposes christianity and a lot of historical and cultural details that are irrelevant to the material. He gets defensive about the way he grades and expects a lot for 200 level class

Get's off topic very easily so class goes by easy. INCONSISTENT GRADER. He may mark another persons answer wrong but not the other. short quizzes but takes off a lot of points for minor errors. review sheet is exactly like the test. Had to present to the class once. This class is easy if you study. BOOK IS A MUST. Nice old man who likes to laugh.

Knows what he is doing in class!! He is demanding but fair to grade students. Classes gives you knowledge and have a bonus of experience and wisdom. I have learned so much from this professor. Prepares you to cope the real professional world!!!

He's really cool and if you do the homework you're fine. There are a lot of oral presentations and only a few tests. You need to have the textbook! Overall, he's easy and clear- he won't move on from something unless everyone understands which is good. Definitely a story teller which takes up class time

Overall a pretty solid professor. Not a fan of his "every 3rd late is an absence" policy since he regularly did attendance before class even started. The way he collects his Pass/Fail HW assignments is also a little stupid, but not a huge deal. He isn't a tough grader, but he is very thorough. He will take off .02 points multiple times on a test.

Tells many stories. Very fair grader,(Sometimes gives free points on tests for people that get over a 90). Homework assignments sometimes are unclear but just ask and he will help you out. Nice guy.

This man is quite the professor. He is quite the storyteller, he wants to help you in class, and is very passionate about teaching. If you love Spanish class, take this class. Just do the homework and pay attention in class, and you will be fine! One of the smartest people I know.

buy the textbook is necessary for the class, even though we don't use it as much as I expected...attend to class if you don't it WILL lower your grade. His assignments are not really clear, but ask and you will get it.

Very nice person,teaching is not his strong point, you have to know a lot going in to the class and study every day. You also have to have perfect grammar spelling and answers (which and NOT multiple choice) on the tests.

Worst teacher I've ever had. His class is very hard, and he doesn't seem to care about student learning. He may help a little if you ask, but you'll wind up more confused. Even people who are fluent in Spanish dread his class. Wouldn't be so bad if more then one option available for 351. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!!

Jesus is a good teacher. Only 2 presentations and 2 written assignments (which are very short). You do your homework out of a workbook which he grades as done or not done (which is 25% of the grade), so just do it. Tests are pretty easy, he gives a review sheet which is exactly like the test, so just study and you'll do fine.
