Comment:

Dr. Song is a very nice teacher but she can come off a bit judgmental. She is a very nice person but there is a bit of a language barrier so sometimes the things she says are perceived differently by us than how she meant it. YOU WILL LEARN A TON! lots of homework ASK QUESTIONS tests are hard but she usually gives practice tests DO THEM! She cares!

Comment:

Dr. Song, despite what some will say, is a great professor. She expects a lot of work outside of class to be done. The ones who don't like her are the ones who do poorly on her exams, which is their fault, not hers. Exams are somewhat difficult. Labs aren't worth much, but are a lot of work. Know your math!! She is always willing to help.

She repeats herself a lot which doesn't matter because all the kids that need it don't show up or are sitting behind you talking about how much they drank lastnight. I would say that the class is super boring but if you can actually hear her over everyone talking she does a good job of teaching. Also, the notes are great- no book needed.

Can often be boring, especially when you understand the material, repeats and goes over it so many times, half the class ends up distracted by other things. Knows the details and material. Tests are fair, you just need to study for them.

Dr. Song may have a slight accent, but she is still easy to understand. She may repeat herself, but that is only to reinforce central topics. Very helpful and easy. Makes weather relatable to everyday life. Helps clarify the book well. Wonderful professor, just focus on paying attention instead of playing games and you will get an 'A' easily.

Very hard to understand but she is pretty cool. However after 15 min of class time, 25% people sleeping, 25% doing other homework, 25% texting/playing on cell, and the rest day dreaming. I skimmed the book on test days and got a C. (I also missed the whole last month of class.) You will be bored but I don't know how you could fail this one.

The problem with her is that she repeats herself constantly!! So much so that you begin to not pay attention because you have heard the same thing over and over. Also if you tried to trace her topics from one to another it would look like a ball of string thrown into the air. She seemingly will jump from one topic to another. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

The only thing good I can say is she made the class interesting by relating the material to the current weather and at least I had the book! She is soooo hard to understand and doesnt pronounce anything correctly!!! I wouldnt take another class with her if I didnt have a good reference to go by because she is impossible to understand!

Her lectures were excellent. Even if the the book's content could be boring, she would always relate current weather conditions to material. I learned a lot of material, rarely needing to even open the book. She made all lectures worth attending, even at 9 in the morning. I would highly recomend her to anyone taking GEOG 105.

jie song is so sweet! honestly, she's very enthusiastic about teaching this class...sometimes it gets boring though. i got an A in the class and an A on 3/4 of the tests...so i'd say she's a pretty good professor.

you have to work in her class but you definitely earn the grade when you are done. The material is difficult but she is willing to help. she loves math and physics which she will combine most of the time. Know intergrals, dervatives, Newtons law(intergration), and physical concepts. She is always willing to help and she is so sweet. She likes to get to know her students and always ask questions.

She lets the class walk all over her. 90 students in my class, and approxametly 30 would get up and leave in the middle of her lecture. She was too shy to do anything about it. Notes were on Power Point and she went by the book, so even when I didn't understand her, I always had a reference.
