Jill Eggers is a great professor. She was very helpful. She'll help you get an idea and plan out your idea and/or plan. Few things that bugged me was that we had to pay $65 for art supplies we would use in the course. During the semester we would run out of the supplies we needed and we wouldn't receive more. She also is a tough grader.

Jill is WONDERFUL! She is very kind-hearted and is driven to help you blossom in your art, no matter the level. She will give you harsh feedback, but you can't sugar coat things if you want to grow as a person/artist. Be open-minded and flexible! This class is not the easiest thing in the world, but it will change your mentality completely.

Jill doesn't really teach. It mostly comes down to personal taste, and when you think you're going in a good direction, she'll rip you too shreds. One of only three teachers ever who turned me off from the subject I was learning. Cryptic and unhelpful. Avoid at all costs.

Very cryptic and esoteric. Her method of teaching is to more or less to have you just paint a lot and doesn't provide much in means of actual painting technique. You are more or less left to figure things out on your own. I had her for several years and I severally doubt I have gained much of anything from her.

Jill is super friendly and easy to communicate with. Ask for help and you shall receive. Grading is unclear, and some grades felt random because the class is not meant to be an art class and was treated as such sometimes. This class is getting dropped, however.

Jill is a nice enough person, but a pretty awful teacher. Her critiques on paintings are usually vague and confusing, and always very biased. Other professors in the painting department would give good critique on some of our work while she would tell us it was not "painterly" enough and had too much detail. Also- prepare to spend $500 on supplies.

Jill means well and is a very kind person. I did very well in her class because I worked hard, but she expects you to paint like her, which is difficult. Her directions are often cryptic, and she tends to be moody. However, I enjoyed the class and learned a lot by the end.

Jill is very friendly and if you need something she will help you get it. Her comments on my work were always helpful to me. Art is a lot of work and is often slow progress. I don't understand how there are so many bad comments on here. People need to be patient and passionate about painting.

This is the first semester of a four semester class and I love Jill and my other professor. This class has great experiences. I was afraid at first that it would be difficult for people with basic artistic skills but the teachers are very understanding and accepting! It's a great class! Take it if you like art and new experiences!!!

I would discourage anyone from taking Intro to painting with Jill. I was really excited about this class and ended up completly frustrated and discouraged. For an intro class I felt the grading scale was way off!! You really have to be an exceptional painter to get above a C for a grade in her class.

likes to have fun, however dosen't do a thing for you in helping you out. her grading scale is from mars, and her comments on your work from pluto. treats the class like and advanced studio and just pushes you off on your own to create some master piece. i don't recommend her

Jill is definitely a nice person, but she more often than not wants you to do things her way and then gives you a lower grade for doing so. I found i did A LOT better when i just took my painting home with me where she couldnt critique it while i worked.

I love painting, but each semester I left Jill's class very frustrated and discouraged. Her students like her as a person, but as a teacher she needs work. She seems rushed when talking to you and her comments do not reflect what your grade will be. I worked my butt off and did not learn a thing.
