Comment:
Consistently this professor has poor reviews and yet she still teaches - this is intentional hazing by the psych department to weed out those who can not tolerate abusive lectures. This is a required course taught by a teacher known to have contempt for students, she will not answer questions in a class, rushes through lectures so she may leave

early (1 hr) and refuses to clarify when clearly no-one undersands (e.g. 98% failure on an inclass quiz question - refused to review). It is a test of student EQ to ensure you are robust to the contempt of a teacher who routintely is rude. When she deigns to answer, which is rare, she is hostile and on the offense,

e.g when a student asked for clarifications on the up coming exam she responded "Don't put words in my mouth" and then turned away without answering the question. She blames all failure on the student - e.g. when the entire class did very poorly on the in class quizzes (an average of around 2/8 each quiz) she said we had not worked hard enough.

She creates a toxic environment - e.g. by saying students are all ranked and would need fight for thesis positions. Yes she is tenured and must be inflicted on some class - but Queen's needn't have chosen a required course - they clearly like hazing and want to know who can stomach her abuse.

One of the worst profs i've had. She is not very accommodating and likes to be petty towards the students, almost as if she is punishing us. She is an extremely boring lecturer and doesn't even try to make the already-boring material more interesting.

Absolutely the worst professor I have had in 4 years of University. She presented material in the most confusing way possible, never provides clear or concise definitions or even main concepts. Her horrible teaching makes it impossible for anyone to know what's happening despite constant effort. I don't know one person who knows what's going on.

Disaster of a class; no clear guidance or direction. I used to love statistics and research and her course has completely destroyed that. Really needs to sit down and look at her material and think about 1. is ALL of this necessary for a mandatory course and 2. Am i teaching in the most effective and clear way possible?

Poorly organized course that has lab, lecture and quiz components that aren't related to each other. It is supposed to be an advanced statistics course that is a prerequisite for the degree but is taught like a philosophy class with ambiguous expectations

Really boring and arrogant. She makes the class rather miserable . If you had Prof.Holden before and understood, She will go back and makes that stuff confusing all over again.

Great Prof. Really kept people interested. Her exam was really fair and she had good usage of visual aids, it's easy to pay attention in her portion of the class, even though it's the last one!

Great prof. She does her best to make things interesting. Her notes are a bit confusing though, which makes studying for exams really hard. But lectures with her are awesome.

I totally agree the most USELESS TAs are in this part of the course. The tutorials from psyc100 will bring your mark up so much if you attend except for this section. Jacobson is a good prof. She's interesting, clear and her exam was fair despite how mad everyone got with one of her questions on the final (which was directly from the lecture notes)

Pretty good, but definitly not Dr. Tripp. She seems to always talk to the ceiling, but she is by far the best of the psyc profs for helping students understand things on WEB CT. Which is good becasue her section easily has the most useless TA's.

I agree, she is definitely one of the better Psyc 100 profs. Her notes are clear, straight to the point, and she gives helpful hints for remembering concepts. Most people just suffer from "Tripp Withdrawl" and feel that Jacobson isn't up to par.

Probably the most underrated Psyc 100 prof, especially since her module comes right after Dr. Tripp's. She's clear, concise, and knows her material extremely well. The notes are great to study from, and her exam questions are very fair.

A definite improvement over some of the other profs in the course. Jill knew what she was talking about and I don't think people give her enough credit. Everyone sleeps through 3 hour lectures thats not the profs fault.
