Maybe because I'm a mature student, I found the practical aspects of this course very useful. Actually loved coming to class. Jillian is funny and helpful, but doesn't suffer fools or high school behaviour. Lots to learn from her if you/re a serious student.

Horrible teacher. Amount of homework is ridiculous. She often gets very off topic about what she is teaching. If you do take this class bring a notepad. You can learn everything this class would teach in a few hours. This class is a waste of time. If she doesnt like you she will refuse to help you. I felt totally demoralized after taking this class

Could never have managed in college without this course. Got 98% and 95% on my research papers in other classes, but didn't even know how to start one before this class. Jillian was great. If you work hard you get a lot out of the course.

This class is not a class you need to take in order to get any degree, and is a waste of your money. Also, it is very boring and Ms. Hull seems to play favourites. Just skip this class. It's your best bet in being happy and successful in school.

She is a really nice person. The class itself is pretty boring, but she gives you quite a bit of freedom while you're there: Listening to music, talking to others while you work, etc. Class is pretty easy overall. If you aren't bad at presentations, and typing out a few assignments, you'll do just fine.

I didn't find this class to be as useful as it was made out to be. It is pretty standard information that most people should have by college. It also had the most homework out of ALL my other classes combined. She tries to be nice, but has a typical A-type personality: her way or the highway! Deviations are wrong.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!! it is a complete waste of money. This is supposed to be a student success class, but with the CRAZY amount of homework and papers and writing all this class did was get me behind in my other classes! she claims to be understanding but is the complete opposite! plus her voice is the most annoying thing ive ever heard.beware!

Jillian is a great prof, however she is really picky with writing assignments considering she's an english major. Make sure nothing bad happens to your assignments though, she won't believe you even if it's true.

Jillian is a great prof. She really cares about students, makes an effort to memorize your names and all that jazz. Very imformative about what she wants, teaches you basic skills you need in college (how to write a paper etc). She's a very interesting person with lots of stories she likes to tell. Highly recommended for anyone starting college.

Jillian is an awesome prof. She really knows her stuff, really cares about her students, and definitely wants to help students prepare for the challenges of college. Course was easy and very informative, just read the text, go to class, and do the work and you'll be fine. Highly recommended course/instructor for students just entering college!

Class was extreamly useful and is recommended to any student. It is transferable to university, and is definatly worth it. Lots of work, but she is a very fair marker and will help any way possible. She is the best teacher ive ever had.

This was a very fast-paced course with a lot of useful information. Take this course (if it is still being offered) instead of STSU 1100. I think Jillian is very talented and she is crystal clear with her expectations. I think she should be teaching at a higher level.
