Jim is the epitome of a great professor. He strikes the perfect balance between having a laid back class but also still keeping students engaged. Class can seem long sometimes, but any 100 minute class would. He's super helpful and understanding; I wish I could take another class with him.

Jim is a great, great man and if you have a chance to take a class with him do it! If you take his recording class but don't know much about recording, definitely get the reading and educate yourself because it is easy to get lost, that's the only reason why the class can be difficult. He really cares for his students. A+++

I would take a class on breathing if it was taught by Jim. His recording class was my favorite class this semester, and the only one I actually wanted to go to every week.

Jim is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's really funny in class & tries to make things less dull. And if you ever need help or are struggling in any way, he's there for you. Pretty much the only professor I've ever had who sympathized when I was struggling emotionally instead of accusing me of using my anxiety disorders as an excuse.

Jim is the best professor i had at northeastern. He makes sure every single student knows exactly whats going on. he teaches at a slow pace, but teaches really thoroughly. this definitely annoyed some of the more advanced students in the class, but i went in knowing nothing about audio prod and left with a lot. Hilarious guy.

Jim Anderson is the man. He absolutely knows his stuff and goes beyond the classroom to help his students with anything music related or not. He doesn't use the book much but I learned a ton just by listening to his lectures. He often goes on tangents but they're almost always related to the music industry as a whole. TAKE HIS CLASS!!

Jim is a cool guy. Class is entertaining - he likes to joke around. Splits class into 2 sections of 8 people, 1 hr 45 minutes each section so he actually gets to know everyone in the class. Assignments are easy and straightforward, same with the quizzes, just do the reading. Definitely recommend taking Jim's classes.

Great professor, great person too. Just show up, take the exams, and write the paper, and you'll do fine. Classroom atmosphere is extremely relaxed, with lots of open discussion. You'll also learn about the industry, just don't sleep through class.
