Comment:

He is exactly what you want in a law professor. Demands respect. Requires you to pay attention (no laptops, only handwritten notes). Gives several quizzes throughout the year to help you better understand material. Loved his classes. But is unnecessarily rude. Totally has a god complex. Best professor by far for bar prep. Wish all were like him.

This Professor demands respect, preparation, participation and competence. STOP TALKING THE MINUTE HE BEGINS HIS CLASS. This Professor behaves similarly to many judges, so he is a good dose of reality. Although he randomly calls on students to recite, if you don't know the answer he remains respectful. Bar prep is his main goal so take him.

You must treat this class as a job. He has little tolerance for stupidity or your excuses. Treat him with respect and he most likely will do so in return. For his MPC on his exams, may the odds be in your favor....

He can definitely be unnecessarily rude in class. Even if you're prepared, he reads through problems quickly and jumps from subject to subject as if he's purposefully trying to trick everyone. Oh and while you're trying to handwrite notes because you can't use a computer. Be prepared to spend a lot of time outside of class teaching yourself.

Loved his style of presenting the material. The slides he hands out at the review sessions are EXACTLY what you need to know for the final--no surprises. Final was very straight forward. Only drawback to his class is recitation. He does it randomly and tends to pick on the unprepared. Will drill you so know your stuff!

This was my favorite class my first semester. Steiner is really funny but his humor can be harsh which I loved. He looks for those who are trying to get away with doing as little as possible. Just stay on top of your cases and be prepared for every class.

Cool professor. Highly recommended. Good sense of humor. Simplifies substance so a 1-L can digest. Intimidating- but I realized he was the most helpful professor; optional reviews and power-points --> GOLD. Subtle kindness. Tough-love; will rightfully call out corner-cutters, posers, slackers. Good pep-talks when needed. Looks like R. Downey, Jr.

Was soo intimated by him, but it was in vain. He is really a nice guy. Warped in a harmless way. Loves the Simpsons and his kids. Just pay attention and attend his reviews. Write everything you can on his essays.

Steiner did a great job by including humor in each class. I believe he gets his giggles by watching his 1Ls squirm, but everyone who has completed the typical 1L suffering can appreciate it. He was rather laid back during recitations, unless he suspected you weren't prepared. Seriously, don't go to class if you didn't read.

I loved this guy and his sense of humor. If people feel he is rude, they were unprepared and deserved to be embarassed in class. I did ok--he was very helpful and took the time to go over my final with me in a lot of detail, which I appreciated. You must be prepared for class-if you're not, don't go. he knows who isn't prepared and will call on you

Makes no secret of what will be on the test- even hands out reviews after each chapter so you have no reason to miss a concept. Lots of material covered on the final but the questions were fair. Reciting isn't bad- he'll drop hints and as long as you've got some idea your fine.

I can handle his sarcasm and mocking of students. He's a law professor-- what more could one expect? However, the exam was VERY unfair, and I'm not saying that because of my grade. Most profs proportion distribution of questions to how much time they spent in class on the subject. Steiner did not do this, and I think all of us felt cheated.

All of the bad reviews for Steiner are dead wrong. I've read them all. Steiner is best quality. Lucid, amusing, and has good standards of behavior. He does not frequently run overtime on class at all. As far as arrogance, he is not; it's just a particular kind of personality. Any "offensive" comments he makes are fine: the student deserved it

Funny stuff delivered in a deadpan manner, ivy league aura, good explanations and slides for coursework. I'd buy tickets to see him if I wasn't already paying tuition.
