Skipping class will put you behind. Tests are difficult. You receive 23 TrueFalse and multiple choice questions for a take-home portion of the exam. That leaves roughly 17 to do in class and 2 comprehensive problems. Will take the entire class period to do. Although one of the more difficult courses, what you learn is extremely useful.

Slightly easier than Intro Tax but same format. Three exams that are open bookopen note, first like 25 questions of the exam are take home and the rest in class but you will still work up until the class time is over to finish. Quizzes per chapter either take home or in class with a note sheet. 3 group tax returns and one research project.

I am an accounting major and this is the hardest class i have taken. gives quizzes for almost every chapter but most are take home which is really nice. Homework for every chapter that is collected. Do the homework and then the next classes he goes over it and teaches you how to actually do it. Exam are open bookopen note. 4 exams. 1 tax return

Comment:

Professor Doering's business law class was very easy. Each day in class was a quiz but the quizzes were taken as a group and very easy truefalse. He conducts a comprehensive review prior to each exam so studying is very easy. He also curves nearly every exam. When writing on the white board, it is not very helpful; mostly pointless diagrams.

Lectures tend to be all over the place and hard to understand what he means sometimes. He spends a lot of time writing things on the board, but it's hard to read and doesn't always make sense with what he is trying to say. Tests are easy, plus he curves every exam.

I highly recommend him. His tests are pretty easy when you listen to his lectures. The book is not necessary at all because the tests are straight from what he talks about. You have to go to class for the quizes. However, the quizes are just a booster for your score because he almost always gives you all the answers anyways.

Great guy. Does his best to keep the boring material interesting. Quizzes daily but they are open book, open note, and work with a partner. He usually just gives all the answers before you hand them in. Funny, interesting, and easy.
