AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Let's begin with the pros: Nice guy-- that's it. Now the cons: The readings, the lectures, the slides have a supernatural way of being arduous, boring, and lengthy while learning nothing at all. It's so supernatural, in fact, I believe in God more not because of the course, but because I still can't believe I learned nothing.

He's a Greek prof, so linguistics come easily to him. He's very smart and VERY passionate about both of those fields. He's also very busy; he wears many hats at the college. He likes to use technology a lot in class, so get used to it.

Very tough class, it's open to undergrads even though it's built in to OC's graduate program. Dvorak gives you great online tools for learning Greek, and is really helpful even though he's usually very busy.

i loved Dr. Dvorak's class. I didn't expect much when i first began, but the class discussions and his unique view on old material made the class, one of my favorites. I would highly recommend this teacher to anyone.
